Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Hey guys wanted to give a heads up about a Lifetime movie for those that are not looking for "spice" as its being described in their Christmas movies there is a disclaimer about this year's A Cowboy Christmas Romance that has just been released.

A Cowboy Christmas Romance is being advised that it will contain an adult scene. Lifetime saying "The network believes that there is an audience hungry for grown-up romance and is excited to add some smolder to their usual holiday content. The movie deviates from typical Lifetime Christmas movie clichés and focuses on real family dynamics and relationships rather than the usual festive elements."
I saw that, also. They can count me out on this one. '

I know I'm a throwback, but I watch movies to be entertained, not delve into "real life". I've got enough "smolder" in my life, I don't need to watch it.

I’m not sure why it didn’t make the lists because it seems to be new 🤷🏽‍♀️

I just watched Christmas in Maple Hills which aired on GAF. Marcus Rosner was the recognizable lead. This was so much better than I was expecting, with 2 romances for the price of one, multiple intriguing plots, solid acting — just a fabulous movie overall! 🤩

You're correct - it's new. Release date 11/23 (on the internet). But it's not on the master list that GAF put out.

TIME FOR HER TO COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

Like most sequel movies, not the best, but OK.

Speaking from my theatrical experience, one of the key things an actor needs is they have to believe in their character. This movie had a lot of actors who didn't really believe who they were portraying. Maybe chalk it up to some newer, less experienced actors, I don't know.

Interesting. I'll have to check this out after the Christmas movies are over. It supposedly works with one's home library. For some libraries, it's free. For some other libraries, they pay for each movie we watch, from $0.99 - $2.99, even though it's free to us to watch the movie. Not sure I want to do that to my library. :( Our mayor just cut our library systems budget and they have to close certain days now. :badpc: So, I don't want to take from their existing budget. There are other streaming services which have free Hallmark movies to watch.

I just watched the trailer below. This does NOT look like a typical GAF or Hallmark movie. It looks very complex! And well written, and yes, better than typical movies than either network puts out.

My guess is that and independent film company shot the movie and GAF was able to buy the rights to show the movie on their network. When you look at the credits at the end of the trailer, other than Marcus Rosner, pretty much every other person, from the director on down is unfamiliar as having done a Hallmark movie before.

This looks really good.

I found the Laughing All the Way movie on IMDb   it must have just been added between yesterday and today

I saw an article talking about instant viewership for Great American Family is still low but their overall viewership has grown 150% year over year from 2022 to 2023. It seems that way based on the ratings for their movies as they are still skewing higher than in years past of the still new to the scene network. I believe the article was first discussing Candace Cameron Bure's film this year not doing as well in instant viewership.

I found this movie months ago on a random list of 2023 Christmas movies. It was a direct to video release with right now I can only see can be viewed digitally in two places (Fox Nation and Fubo neither one I have so I put it out of my mind but kept it on a list for future reference). You can buy or rent it on Amazon digitally as well.

Fox Nation had announced it as part of their line up airing it for Thanksgiving day but a source for Christmas movies and other made for tv movies blog that I'm following had an update on the 18th of November (which I missed this update) saying GFAM had surprise added it to their line up so they def. bought the rights and you're correct on that. I almost didn't catch it in time to set it to record! It's trending as a high rated movie so that's good.

I watched Christmas at the Chalet and thought it was solid. Nice to see a different, yet positive plot line. Great acting, and overall a happy movie. This was a good presentation from Lifetime.

I watched Christmas at the Chalet. It starts off a bit light and fluffy. Teri Hatcher ends up being a temporary mousekeeper at the chalet. She's always impeccably dressed and not at all exhausted after working a full day. But, as the movie goes on, Teri's character gains more depth. In fact, it's the male lead's mother, (who is an interesting character,) is the one to really influence Teri to deepen, and in turn, Teri then influences the male lead. I would watch this movie again.

Starring:
Ginna Claire Mason and Frédéric Brossier.
Description: Heidi Heidelberg receives the dream opportunity to sell her beautiful, handmade glass ornaments at the prestigious Heidelberg Christmas Market in Germany. While there, she meets Lukas, a local artisan who helps her reconnect with her lost heritage.

A Heidelberg Holiday was a complete NO for me. A reviewer on the IMDb .com said even Gidget Goes To Rome was a better movie. And I thought, that's exactly what this movie is: Gidget Goes to Germany!

I found the female lead annoying. Like the annoying co-worker you keep trying to move your chair away from to get away from her, so that you don't get trapped into talking to her. :crazy2: The two leads didn't have any chemistry. They acted like brother & sister. The dialogue was very stilted. I already knew what was going to happen when she didn't pay for a reliable shipping company to send her most prized crafts overseas. :headache: Even the travel magazine type bits of telling us German customs and traditions couldn't save this movie for me.
