Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I give Welcome to Mama's a hard NO. Too many problems. And that is just with the female lead. She had personal problems. She had a problem with Mama. She had a problem with the male lead. She had a problem running the restaurant. She came off as an unlikable, overbearing witch. :headache:

The male lead, of course had problems with the female lead. He's a chef, but had problems cooking.

Mama was deceased at the beginning of the movie. There were lots of flashbacks, all to better times than the present.

I'm really getting annoyed with all these male & female leads have "sparks fly" in the beginning. Can't Hallmark come up with another plot line? The sparks one lasted 3/4 of the way through the movie. I purposely looked at the clock when she finally realized she was in the wrong. And that was before they have the misunderstanding right before the end, that temporarily separates them. Yet, they never seemed to have enough moments building up to a relationship together.

Hallmark movies are supposed to be my escape to a "happy place." 🥰 There was so many sparks flying and problems throughout, NO ONE was happy in the movie. :badpc: I finally turned on an old favorite that I re-recorded last week, Royal Matchmaker, when it was on, to get that "happy place" hit.
I am so sorry you went through that, but really appreciate your sharing so I can avoid that hot mess! 🤗🥰

Thanks. I have to learn to be more like you and just turn off the movie after half an hour if it's bad. :headache: :badpc: I think I get more annoyed with myself than the movie that I kept watching and wasted my time, when I can tell early on that I should just scrap the movie and put on a rerun I like.

I finally watched “Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas.” This was what I expect for a Hallmark Christmas movie — talented cast with some chemistry, better than average script, and nicely paced. So glad to get to a really good one again 🎄

I liked that movie too. I liked the amnesia element. The first movie in that series was my favorite. Although, I didn't like when the actor sang. I get he was playing a country music star. But his singing was way too nasal & twangy for me.

You're Bacon Me Crazy is re-airing tonight at 8pm ET. I liked this movie. Or maybe I liked the idea of a bacon food truck. :lovestruc :lmao:But, when the bacon food truck rolled in and the people in the other food truck were peering out the window and could smell the bacon cooking and saw people lining up, due to the smell, that was just so well thought out and well written.

Intriguing, we will give it a chance tonight. :thumbsup2

There's two movies on tomorrow that I'm recommending.

This first one is a real oldie that hasn't been on for a few years. It's one of the good ones that Hallmark stopped showing. It's finally back.

A Ring By Spring is on at 12pm ET on the Hallmark Channel.
Starring: Rachel Boston and Kirby Morrow.
Description: At a party, Rachel sits with a fortune teller (Stephanie Powers) who tells that if she doesn't get a ring by spring, she never will. Rachel interviews her old boyfriends to figure out why she has never been able to commit and figure it out before spring.

In the second movie: Kimberley Sustad and Paul Campbell are paired together for a second time in Wedding Every Weekend. (The first time was for A Godwink Christmas.) They are so good together. And the movie's director did most of the Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies. In this movie, the pair finds themselves attending some of the same weddings as they have the same friends. So, they start attending together and form a bond.
The movie is on at 6pm ET on the Hallmark Channel.

There is no new movie this weekend. The Wedding Veil trilogy is on again. So, it will be good to have a couple of other movies to watch instead if you don't want to watch the trilogy again.

I still have Wedding Every Weekend in my DVR from the last time it aired in the Fall. This is a good one I wanted to have available. Kimberly and Paul have fantastic chemistry, and both are masters of snappy dialogue. This one’s a winner!

She actually did play one in Campfire Kiss. She said in an interview it was her first time producing, so of course, she'd make sure her character was a math teacher. ;) She sang a Pi song that she made up to the Sugar Plum Fairy song. There isn't a clip of it online, which is a shame because some math kids might have used it to remember many of the Pi digits, but she does a few seconds of it in this interview with Harry Connick Jr.

I found the whole song:

I just watched “Saying Yes to Christmas.” This is actually a good one from Lifetime! I wasn’t familiar with any of the cast, but they all had good chemistry. There was a decent plot, and also a couple of moments which incorporated Japanese culture. Very well done unlike most of their offerings 🥰

I want to watch this year (if they're all aired the way they were last year, didn't get to see them) all of the "Come Home for Christmas" movies.

Just found the below via Google. Is this right?

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas (2018)
Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (2019)
Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas (2020)
Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas (2021)

I saw earlier Hallmark Spring Movies 2022 As I said in the kindness thread, none of the brief descriptions especially grab my attention. I will check out the last two as long as all the dogs are okay in the dog centered story! I am looking forward to a new movie at last :) I hope all of you are having a great start of Spring 🌷

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas (2018) Dec 9
Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (2019) Dec 6
Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas (2020) Dec 6
Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas (2021) Nov 27

That's what I've got. I put the actual premiere dates (in red). I haven't seen the first 2, but I did see the last 2. "Us" was pretty good - I gave it a C+, and "Them" got a B on my report card.

Yes. I liked the first one the best. (Except for the male lead's singing. I know he was supposed to have a country twang. But, he was just too twangy for me. :headache: Yet, he only sings a few times and it doesn't hurt the story, so I'm really being nit-picky.)

The second was a bit weird to me, how the male lead ended up in that town.

The third was okay. I agree with the C+. And the fourth was interesting, as the female lead gets amnesia and we follow her as she tries to remember who she is.

Thanks for the list of spring movies. :thumbsup2 The descriptions don't sound very exciting. I hope they turn out better than described.

ITA Imzadi, in also hoping the movies are better than the descriptions! :) I think I only saw the third movie and from my memory of it, thought it was mostly sweet. I'll have to keep an eye out later this year for the others. Not much into country twang either!

Thank you Princess Shmoo for also sharing your thoughts on the movies :)

Following Lacey signing an exclusive contract with Hallmark, three more actors have signed exclusive multi-picture Hallmark contracts too:

Brennan Elliott - no word yet if that means Crossword Mysteries, which he starred in with Lacey will continue.

Holly Robinson Peete - The report did not elaborate on how many movies the deal covers or how many years it will last. However, the report did note that her exclusivity covers making holiday movies. 🎄

Heather Hemmens - She starred in two Hallmark movies already, Christmas in My Heart, as a concert violinist, with Luke Macfarlane who played a retired country music star.

Also Love, Take Two, where she played a reality TV show producer for a show that help contestants get married. And she finds that one contestant is her ex-boyfriend, played by Cornelius Smith Jr. (I watched this movie. I liked it. She did well. She and Cornelius had chemistry together.)
