Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

So I checked our channels last night, and it looks like we do not have the HMM&M channel in our package. DD did some research, and thinks the show might also be airing on FB Live. Does that sound right? If not, are chances good the new Julia Gonzalo movie will be available for purchase on Amazon soon after airing? I always have promo credits for streaming/ebook purchases since I often elect to delay my shipping preference on packages.

I think what your DD may be thinking is an airing on FB LIVE, probably is a FB Live party join join in on posting together while watching the movie. Danica McKeller did that a couple weeks ago on Instagram Live when her new movie aired on GAC Family.

She talks about it in her second paragraph here:

Have DD check the description of what she read again.

As for watching the movie, I say, instead of waiting for it to come on Amazon, which may be several months, (I really don't know when they get films after airing. Julie does have several Hallmark movies listed. :thumbsup2 ) Sign up for the Frndly TV app. I thought you mentioned before that you stream stuff? This way you two can watch together, chat during the movie, AND she can join in chatting online during commercials, if there are social media parties somewhere.

Frndly TV has a 7 day free trial. Thereafter, it's only $6.99 per month, cancel, do another month here and there any time, cancel again. :teeth:

Thanks for the info. I bet you're right about the FB Live party. Yes, we have been stream-only for a few years. DH recently added Directv back when revamping our internet/wireless bundle, but we have one of the smaller tier pkgs. But now, your post is going to have me on the hunt for The Winter Palace. I ❤ Danica!

Danica's movie, The Winter Palace, is also on the FrndlyTV app for GAC Family. :) I liked it.

Okay, I think I see where the confusion about FB Live comes from. Julie posted this post on Instagram. The way it's worded it does look like the movie is showing on HMM and Facebook. But, looking at the time listed, what she was talking about was a FB Live interview Julie and Ryan did together a couple hours ago.

And when one goes to the actual FB page for HMM, right underneath the big picture for the movie, there is a blue bar saying "Watch video." So, one might think they are actually going to show the movie. But when you click on it, it goes directly to Hallmark's webpage and just shows previews for their movies.

When DD scrolls down a little bit, Julie & Ryan's live interview is there. :thumbsup2

I watched “A Royal Queens Christmas,” today which was better than I expected. I tend to be impatient with the royalty movies…

Still making my way through my endless DVR 🤣

Still making my way through Christmas movies too.

I recently watched A Castle for Christmas, Brooke Shield's movie on Netflix. I liked it. I'm glad others here recommended it before. Cary Elwes was a little too grumpy and dower at times. But, I think anyone who says, "As you wish," to Buttercup the way he did in The Princess Bride deserves a pass. ;)

I just have to mention — Mia Shanks is Lexa Doig’s daughter! She’s married to actor Michael Shanks (Stargate-SG1)

Hallmark's annual Kitten Bowl is canceled. ☹

Bill Abbott, the previous CEO of Hallmark, was super passionate about promoting the adoption of cats & dogs. It was one of the reasons there was a dog or cat in almost all of the Hallmark movies.

Well, he's gone from Hallmark, and now Kitten Bowl (normally held on Superbowl Sunday) is gone too. This would have been the ninth year of Kitten Bowl. :(

The Kitten Bowl was a big event not only for Hallmark, but it was a special event hosted with shelter partner North Shore Animal League of America. Other shelters often held Kitten Bowl parties in honor of the event, and other shelter partners and their cats were featured on TV during the event and subsequently adopted.

A Hallmark representative did say they have continued to support North Shore Animal League America "as part of their commitment to social responsibility initiatives.” In January, Hallmark donated to the North Shore Animal League in honor of what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday.

It's more likely a coincidence that the donation was made as part of a special event that Hallmark hosted to honor Betty White (as she was in a Hallmark movie) and the #BettyWhiteChallenge was to donate to animal shelters & rescues. They got to kill two birds with one stone. (Oh! That was a bad animal metaphor to use in this instance. :duck: ;) ) I doubt we will see Hallmark helping animals or North Shore Animal League much in the future. They will likely move on to other "social responsibility initiatives" mentioned.

Wow! Nice Lexa and Candace both got to act with their daughters. :grouphug:

I just read that Candace’s daughter will be playing Aurora as a teen and Lexa's daughter will be playing Sally as a teen as well. So, they won't get to act with their daughters, but it's still nice to have them in the same movie. :grouphug:

Another cancellation: Picture Perfect Mysteries which stars real life married couple Alexa and Carlos PenaVega. (It actually happened a couple months ago.)

They are sad about the cancellation. But it's okay for them. They actually have their hands full as they had another child in May.

Well I’m still sad, as there seem to be so many cancellations of the mystery series — but congrats on the new addition!

And now I’m wondering — other than Aurora Teagarden and the Jill Wagner one, do we have any mystery series left? 😳

Hallmark got a couple of new network programmers last June. So, they want to put their own mark on the network. I get that they want to do more new movies that are single mysteries, instead of part of the series. But, they seem to have gutted HMM so that it doesn't even resemble what it used to look like. :sad1:

As for Mystery 101, after the one new episode airs, no one knows if there will be any more after that. ☹ This time, it's not due to a decision (yet) by Hallmark.

For a while now, Jill Wagner has been in the works to co-executive produce and star in a new series for Paramount+. It's called Lioness. It's not a Hallmark type movie. It's a series about an undercover CIA female operative program that fights against drug cartels and in the Afghanistan war. "That's going to be totally different than any of the films that I filmed," Wagner said. "It's a little less family-friendly. I don't necessarily know that I'd let my daughter watch Lioness."

Rumors came out a few days ago that Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana are reportedly in talks to also possibly star in the show.

I wonder though, if Jill's role won't be downgraded to a smaller role, and Nicole and Zoe take over starring in the series. Hollywood likes to attach really big names to a project to get it "greenlit" to be made. In any case, if the show takes off, this will be the biggest thing Jill has done. She also had a baby this past year. So, she may be too busy to do Mystery 101, even if Hallmark wants her to continue. 🙁

Is there even a reason to keep Hallmark Mystery channel at this point???

What's ironic is that HM&M currently doesn't have enough of the single mystery movies they want to do. So they've been STILL showing the reruns of the different mystery series.

What they should do is get rid of the Hallmark Drama channel. It just basically shows reruns of Little House on the Prairie and stuff like that non-stop. :sad2:

They should also get rid of the streaming service Hallmark Movies Now. Whenever I read posts over on Facebook and people mentioned Hallmark Movies Now, it was also because they had just signed up for it, but couldn't find the current and new movies - which is what they want to see. :sad2:

They should use the money from those two channels to build up HM&M.

It may be enough for me to take my tv package down to without this one. I can't even get the drama channel but that's good to know for if I switch to a streaming service.
