Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Just finished "A Picture Perfect Holiday" and really enjoyed it. I've loved photography since I was old enough to use a camera, so it was the perfect setting for me (even though it was a familiar storyline as far as the leads falling in love part goes.) I also liked the secondary love story they helped along a bit.

In my experience, Lifetime has one or two really good movies among a lot of so-so movies and some duds. It's usually easy to spot the really good ones as they usually have some really recognizable stars, like Hilarie Burton or Bethany Joy Lenz, and Lifetime spent more for a better script for them. (I'm not talking about the Mario Lopez or Melissa Joan Hart movies, which are staples of Lifetime.)

I think this year, it was Reba McEntire's movie, Jana Kramer's and Chad Michael Murray's movies which qualify. (There may be a couple more I haven't seen yet.)

I've added It Takes a Christmas Village to my list. It stars Brooke Nevin and Corey Sevier. I like Brooke. Yet I usually skip Corey Sevier movies as I watched a couple of his movies years ago and found him really cardboard-y. But, it worked in this movie as the character was a quiet recluse, so it fit him.

The movie was as predictable as ever. I could see the upcoming "conflict" the two leads would have which temporarily splits them apart as clear as day. But the dialogue was good and the situations the leads were in flowed naturally. Brooke and Corey had real chemistry together. Corey directed this movie, so he was able to pick an actress he really got along with. :thumbsup2 Some of the scenes of the mill were really stunning. And I love a good holiday fair or craft fair  so that may have colored my view.

Spectrum Cable has it On Demand on Lifetime, along with several of their other Christmas movies. However, Lifetime is going right back to their regular schedule on Sunday. No clue what is staying On Demand. So today and tomorrow are the only chances left this year to see it.

Hallmark & HMM are going to be showing Christmas movies through New Year's weekend. Their winter movies start Jan 3.

Lifetime is heading right back to their murdering cheerleader moms :scared: as soon as they can, right after Christmas.

In a few minutes, GAC will start showing a Christmas yule log burning, along with holiday music, if you want one on TV in the background, tonight and tomorrow morning. Then they have a marathon of their Christmas movies as well as some of IONs older (and better) Christmas movies.

Lifetime: Toying with the Holidays (8pm ET / 7pm CT and re-airs 4 hours later.)
starring Chad Michael Murray, Cindy Busby.
Description: Workaholic designer Danielle (Cindy Busby) returns to her hometown of Holly Pines for the holidays with her young son Paul with hopes to introduce him to some beloved holiday traditions, in particular the town’s North Pole Express train. Once home, she discovers that the North Pole Express has been sidelined. Determined to help, Danielle reconnects with her former high school classmate Kevin (Chad Michael Murray), now a hobbyist and model train enthusiast himself. Together, Danielle and Kevin attempt to pull off a Christmas miracle that would get the old North Pole Express running–and quite possibly give Danielle many reasons, one of them romantic, to consider staying in Holly Pines for good.

I watched Toying with the Holidays. I'm not a fan of Cindy Busby's so I fast forwarded past the first 10 minutes until she meets Chad Michael Murray. (So, I skipped past where talks about visiting her hometown with a coworker, then talks to her son about it, then talks to her mother about how much she missed being home.) Cindy and Chad have the "sparks fly" moment when they meet. But, things settle down quickly into a pleasant movie. There isn't even the "conflict" moment at the end where they fight. It's a sweet movie. The hubby and boys may like the movie as it has a lot of old model trains in the story. Chad, of course is Chad.

May your cups be brimming with hot chocolate ☕
as you fill up on all the home baked delights. 🥧
May the only fibs you hear be the ones about Santa Claus. :ssst:
May all your family gather together, not snowed in somewhere
- unless it's with a royal prince. 🤴
And may all your misunderstandings resolve with a kiss. :love2:

Watching an oldie here too. Finding Christmas. It was written before the Hallmark "formula" was put in place, meaning more originality. :thumbsup2 It repeats on New Years Eve at 8 am ET.

One of the winter movies appears to be a triology movie with three Lacey Chabert, Allison Sweeny and i'm blanking on the third one but it's about a magical veil
Autumn Reeser 😀

That trilogy looks like it might be good. I really like all of those actresses. :thumbsup2 From the commercials, it looks like Lacey's story is first. She's paired with Kevin McGarry. :thumbsup2

I just watched HMM “A Very Merry Bridesmaid” with Emily Osment. This was so much better than the title suggests. She was so enjoyable to watch, I highly recommend it!
I love the lead actress in A Very Merry Bridesmaid, but I didn't like the sister-in-law at first. And I found the Christmas Eve wedding to be really unrealistic. I liked that the childhood friend/crush made her birthday a big deal, though.

I finally watched this movie. I had never seen the actress, Emily Osment, before. She was really good. I liked the friendship between the two leads and how he made a deal of her birthday. On her part, I thought she was being too much of a martyr though, NOT wanting anyone to know it was her birthday.

And I couldn't stand the SIL-to be at first either. I get it, the airlines caused a huge problem. And what bride wouldn't be nutty over what happened. But, I thought she wasn't warm and fuzzy in general and might be that way all the time.

BTW, I found out Emily Osment is the younger sister of Haley Joel Osment, the boy in The Sixth Sense, who said, "I see dead people." :scared:

Yes she is. Her claim to fame is playing Hannah Montanas best friend.

GAC Family: A Christmas Miracle for Daisy at 8pm ET / 7CT (re-airs at 10pm ET.)
Starring Jill Wagner and Nick Bateman
Description: An interior designer is excited to begin a new project in her adopted hometown. Her enthusiasm is tested as she discovers that her clients are an ex-boyfriend and his daughter.

I liked A Christmas Miracle for Daisy. It's very classic Hallmark, (even though it's on GAC. :ssst: ) So, GAC finally hit one out of the ball park with this, after some other disappointing first movies. The IMDb.com has it at a 7.1 rating, which is high for Hallmark-esque movies.

Jill Wagner plays an interior designer for like the fourth time. But, I liked her previous movies where she was one. The male lead is good too. So, if you are into a well written, feel good, Hallmark comfort movie, this is one. popcorn::

Peacock also still has it on their free tier. (Sign up & watch for free.)

Has anyone had the hallmark wines? I bought one today.
Joy. The Sauvignon bland which happens to be my wine of choice. Saving it for Christmas when someone will be here to help me drink it. I thought they were only available online. I couldn’t resist when I saw it.

@elgerber Did you get to try the Hallmark wine? Or are you now saving it for New Years? How was it?

I have liked lots of stuff Emily Osment has been in. The first Hallmark Christmas movie I saw with her was Christmas Wonderland - I swear I thought it was called Christmas Snowball because it's about a high school dance called the Snowball. It was very cute. She also had a tv series a few years ago called Young and Hungry that was on for 4 or 5 seasons. I think she looks just like her brother. She's likeable to me, similar to Kaitlin Doubleday.

I will probably watch the magic veil series even though I'm not really a fan of Autumn Reeser. I do like the others in the movie.

I have had the Hallmark wines. I think it was maybe two Christmases ago. I ordered a white and a red. They were drinkable, not a bold flavor, more typical of a table red or table white. I didn't like them enough to join the wine club.
