Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

The writers of "Destined 2: Christmas Once More" apparently did not watch the first movie. At the end of the first movie, the final scene began with "1 Year Later". In that scene, Shae Robins' character can clearly be seen wearing an engagement ring. So, at the end of the movie, it's 1 year later and the couple is engaged.

Yet in "Destined 2: Christmas Once More", the whole story centers around the engagement ring yet to be offered. Also, there are repeated references to events that happened "last year" or "last Black Friday." The earliest the sequel could have been set is 2 years after the first movie.

Still, it was a good movie, despite the mistakes. Great American Hallmark did an excellent job in getting the band back together. Even the guy selling coffee was the same one from the first movie.

Thanks for the review :)

It was Great American Family's movie not Hallmark.

Depending on one's interpretation a 1 year later with an engagement ring could be seen as a flash forward with this sequel meant to fill in the gaps of what happened to lead up to the engagement. Haven't watched the sequel yet just speaking in general. But that does remind me of Hallmark's last Mystery 101 where it had that jaw dropping cliffhanger of a flash forward and they aren't doing any more of those movies so we're left wondering.

I guess Destined 1& 2 had the same writer and director of the first one (at least according to IMDb) so if there are continuity errors that could also potentially be them forgetting what they did for the first one; who knows when they wrote it although the screenplay should have been consulted unless one wants to view it as a flash forward for the ending scene of Destined 1.

Forgot to mention we watched a Very Venice Romance and it was so neat to revisit Venice. It was a cute movie with a good leading man. Speaking of sequels I'd love one there just to see how things progressed.

Watched Fourth Down and Love and enjoyed it but maybe not as much as I would have thought I would have. I'd watch it in passing though again.

Also watched Great American Family's A Harvest Homecoming over the weekend and thought it was a cute movie, not too much drama except what you would expect for the storyline but they made the audience and the leading woman aware it would be over relatively quick. Only thing that made my husband and I kinda shake our heads is they decorated every house and school and main buildings pretty much the same and it was over the top. Like no one has that much fall decoration  but still it was an easy going movie to watch.

Thanks for the Destined review indeed! I admit to not remembering many specifics about the first movie other than the female character (I think this was the movie) worked at a museum. Will check the sequel either later or tomorrow :)

Haven't seen the movies yet either. I'm waiting a little bit before getting the FndlyTV app.

Yet, maybe they thought they could do a pre-quel sequel to the flash forward. :teleport: :)

Dad and I finished watching Destined 2 last night. My thoughts are pretty much the same as before. Very sweet movie despite not so good acting. We both agreed that spending half the movie looking for the ring got old quick. I had remembered what had happened to it so it was a bit annoying. Not specifying because I don't want to give anything away. I LOVED Kim's friend who reminded Theo that the rings wasn't what mattered, love was! Was this friend the same actress who played a boss in the Christmas movie that took place at a newspaper last year? The movie where the newspaper reporter and the actress finally located a couple. I remember something about a Christmas train. They searched through the city. Puzzle they had to solve. Does this ring any bells? :) I wouldn't be surprised if next year there was a Destined 3 and sort of hope there will be:santa:

I'm excited for the Saturday Hallmark movie. I have seen several promos for it and it just looks so cute. Kinda funny that Lyndsy is in this movie since she was in the one last year or year before about time-traveling and changing the past too. I really liked that one so I have a good feeling about this one and I adore Michael Rady which is a bonus!

I don't think I'll catch tonight's movie since I have to watch the Phillies game! I'm sure I'll catch it when it re-airs.

Since Hallmark started their first weekend with three of their biggest male stars: Kevin McGarry, Michael Rady and Ryan Paevey, it made me wonder what their actress/actor lineup will be the rest of the season. :scratchin Will it all be downhill from here? :lmao:

However, as they spend time in eachother's worlds, they soon build a connection that is deeper than either of them could have hoped for.

So I watched Take Me Back for Christmas, and I enjoyed it.
To be fair, Corey directed and wasn't in it as much as a hero normally appears.
I would probably watch it again in a couple of years, definitely not a rewatch immediately for me.
I'm watching this now. I didn't catch it in July, I guess when it originally premiered. And when it popped up on my tv guide, I didn't have it listed on my Christmas movie list.

It has a different feel about it. I'm not really into the various actors that Hallmark is using now, and these are all new to me.

I watched the three new Hallmark Christmas movies this weekend. My favorite was the one with Michael Rady, Where Are You Christmas? Even though the movie was rather mystical, it had the most realistic and natural acting, if that makes sense. :upsidedow It had the best writing of the three movies and had a nice resolution at the end.

After that, I would say Kevin McGarry's movie, Checkin' It Twice, would be next. I liked that they didn't try to pretend he was still a young hockey player. The writing brought in how he's older. I thought he got along well with the female lead. I thought she acted well. I liked her last year in The Ghosts of Christmas Past.

What I'm never a fan of is how Hallmark has a recurring theme where one of the leads gives up their lifelong dream that they worked their whole life for, when they find the love of their life. To me, that reeks of codependency and expecting the other person to unrealistically fulfill all their dreams instead of what they worked for. It would be nice if Hallmark allows the person to get their dream AND the love of their life. And it would be nice if the love of their life actually supported and rooted for them getting their dream and would wait for them.

The Ryan Paevey movie, Under the Christmas Sky, came in third. I didn't buy that the female lead was an astrophysicist/astronaut. I didn't think there was much chemistry between them. And the misunderstanding was quite lame, sudden and quite weird. The planetarium/museum was a disappointment. They obviously didn't film in a real planetarium. It would have been really nice if they had highlighted how Christmas and the sun were interrelated through out history, instead of having it as a small plot element. This is a Christmas movie. The brother was really odd, both with his acting and well, not having a job and living at home in his thirties. 🤷‍♀️ But, the movie is re-watchable. So, I may watch it again for an eye candy fix if I happen to be around when it's on. But, I won't seek it out.

OK, everybody, time to put on your thinking caps.

I recently watched a Christmas movie and I can't recall the name of it.

Story: Man needs to find a Christmas present for his girlfriend (he has no clue as to her likes/dislikes) and uses a (male) friend who happens to be a personal shopper. (No, it's not Jolly Good Christmas with Wil Kemp). Personal shopper meets girlfriend and learns her likes/dislikes. And, of course, during the process falls for girlfriend.

Girlfriend's father died when she was young, and he was a jazz/blues singer/performer. Personal shopper manages to find the one album his group made and gets it for the girlfriend.

Thanks in advance for any help.
