Has anyone heard if/when the Hall of Presidents will be closed for refurbishment? I remember when we went in Dec 2008, Obama had just been elected and they closed HOP to add his AA. Since we will be electing a new president this year, I'm assuming HOP will be updated?

1. Don't know exact dates.
2. Yup.
3. Yup.

In 2001, it closed at the end of the day on 1/20. I saw the very last showing of the "Bill Clinton" version of HoP, although it eventuated that there were minimal changes for the "W" version.

At the time, management was unsure if it would reopen at all.

It was closed when we went in April of 2009, but I can't remember when I read that it reopened that year.

We did the updated version on July 3, 2009 with Obama. Had just reopened I think

Dropping in to remind everyone to please follow the DIS posting Guidelines. Please remain on topic, without political comments or jokes, while discussing the Hall of Presidents. Thanks! :)

So for our trip Dec 7-11, do you think I can safely assume that it will still be open?

I would imagine Dec 2016 would be fine. I'm thinking it'd close after Trump/Clinton gets into office in January. I'm totally guessing but I'm assuming a February - April closure to do a reboot.

Ugg. This had better be open over (ironically) President's weekend! I need my scheduled naptime! Those seats are the best (and actually I do enjoy the show too).

HoP was closed from 10/2008 to 7/2009, but that included a lot of updates to the A/V systems and overall refurbishing. Should not be like that this time.
