I loved it- not even upset about the lip syncing because well, I think it would be hard to actually sing when you were giving such a high energy dance performance.
Not sure if anyone here has been to the beach lately, or watched figure skating on tv or gymnastics but I think the costumes last night were pretty similar.
Nobody was stripping, therefore that was not a stripper pole. It was a pole, and she did some gymnastic like dance moves on it.
The way Shakira held that rope I said to myself... "Thank you Lord for having Shakira use that rope and not a real snake." That is a pretty thick rope to tie into knots. Just sayin

It was the best half time show since Prince. I think Shakira could have carried it alone, but whatever.

As for parents of children of either sex...I wonder if they hustle the kiddos out the room when the Dallas cheerleaders come on the field?

ITA, it looked horrible. The black outfit shouldn't have had such a narrow cut. Totally looked like wings from a maxipad and wasn't very flattering.

That kind of stuff is not family friendly. Here is my labia, Caged Children. Look at it. Now I'm going to touch my crotch. SING, children. Sing. The presence of a children on stage made this all so hysterical.

What you like is a singer. Shakira and JLo are entertainers. Nothing wrong with preferring one over the other but there is a difference.

Personally, I prefer an entertainer. I can turn the radio on and hear them just sing. Just a difference in preference.

That’s fair. On the other side though, I’ve been to concerts where the singer/band doesn’t dance and I was thoroughly entertained because there were a lot of pyrotechnics and other aspects going on. I personally don’t like watching someone dance and pretend to sing. It’s not entertaining to me. I want to hear what they actually sound like live. Everyone likes different things I guess

I really wasn't. I love big dance productions and I love good costuming, but one of the first things I noticed was the white/silver peaking out. It wasn't a good look and I'm surprised it got through all the dress and tech rehearsal without someone saying something. That bothered me more than the grabbing. She looked amazing when she took the black layer off.

So these women are 40+ And men drool. Big whip. They wake up, eat a lettuce leaf (prepared by a personal chef), my "trainer" shows up and runs me through a personalized workout.... Gee that 's why the average woman can't keep up. I have to actually work for a living! But on the other hand, my SIL pointed out "gee the conservative front is going to have a field day with this show!"

Eh stripper pole is pretty much the name one calls it.

Sure over time we've diversified what the poles are used for but I'm not going to make it about semantics with respects to what the pole is called or isn't called when one isn't divested onself of their clothing.

If you want to be technical she was pole dancing. I give major props to individuals who can balance themselves on the poles and do all sorts of moves but at the same time we all know this wasn't just JLO workin' on her core

I think we tend to see them be more strategic in their placement so it's more of a bigger reveal like "how was that under that" kind of thinking with a switchout of the costume. I can't say that it bothered me but I did notice. I hear what you're getting at though.

Pink would be a fantastic act for the halftime show! Most of the concerts I’ve been to are rock bands and they get so into their music that I find it entertaining like when they jump off amps or have a drum set come out of the ground on a lift. I’ve been to concerts where they stand around like robots and agree that isn’t entertaining.

Heck, if you watched the Joe Theismann broken leg game, you got to see his leg bone, live on tv. That wasn't a Super Bowl, but it was football.

She didn’t “grab” it. She put her hand over the area. I rewatched the performance just to be sure. Looked like she was making sure you didn’t see what too many are so sure she was trying to show.

Or she could have been covering what was a poorly tailored costume. She had a nude bodysuit on that was securely covering any private bits. She didn't "cover" that area at all once the black costume was off.

Most shows on regular TV have a ton of a violence and death, and I don't hear any complaints about that or people worried about children watching these shows. PG-13 movies can include as much graphic violence as they want, but if there is someone naked for 1 second or the F word is used twice it's automatically rated R. I don't get it.
