Half the Hotels already booked Full (21-29) in October?

Question for you I'm trying to plan our trip with Get Away Today and I'm putting in the dates for October 21-29. I'm noticing almost half the Hotels are booked full already for this week? Is there a fall break in Cali or AZ? We went last year during this time and it was surprisingly busy. This year I'm thinking of changing our trip date to the October 7-15 any thoughts on that week? Thanks for your help!*

I would guess you know when UEA is.

Probably GAT doesn't have rooms to book, the hotels are not full. Try another site or contact the hotels directly.

Step away from GAT - I always get a better deal going through the hotel directly *calling the local 714 # Go ahead and get your PHs from GAT, character meal vouchers but you can do it, book your hotel on your own

@ skiing fast, yes UEA is the week before? I do see what your saying about not being full. Thanks.

@ disneymomma, what about resort fees? GAT usually waives Parking, Internet do you have to pay those when you book in house? Thanks.

When is UEA this year? I thought it was usually the 2nd week of October. Am I wrong? We're planning on going in September but our back up dates are 10/19-10/22...

UEA 2012 is October 18-19. It's pretty busy at Disneyland during this time. I love my fellow Utahns but I prefer not to be with them during this time.

Thanks! Just double checked my info and our dates are actually 10/14-10/17 so hopefully we'll be ok.

AZ districts have fall breaks on the 2nd and/or 3rd weeks of October, and I believe Hawaii as well, so I would not move up your trip.

I have learned from these boards that October is the most popular time for Aussie and New Zealand travel and large tour groups can quickly fill hotels.

This made for fun conversation in the lines on our last Oct. trip, and I am looking forward to meeting some more world travelers this October.

I am a ta in Canada and I have full availability for your dates, but for Oct. 5 - 12 is Canada's thanksgiving, so you will probably have an influx of Canadians there that weekend. I don't know how GAT works, but our tour companies block rooms and sell them, so we have lots for both right now, but it will get busy for thanksgiving.

I think it's just super busy. I've had several problems booking Oct 29-Nov 13, too, mainly because of Vets' Day weekend (which seems to be a 5-day holiday/vacation for some, judging by the things we were told our fully booked) and the too-small supply of suites on Harbor for our party of six. I actually had to partial book, meaning get a PVI suite for nine nights, as we try and figure out a second choice for our second weekend there.

We will be there 10/19 - 10/23. We haven't been to the Cali parks at this time, so curious to see how busy it will be! We have already booked our hotel, so at least we don't need to worry about that. Thanks for the heads up!
