Due to poor DVC availability we have a studio booked at Jambo and a 1 bedroom villa at Kidani. It is DH and I and 4 adult children.I'm not sure how I'm going to split us up yet but I'm looking for advice. It would be nice if we could walk to each pool and hang out in the afternoons. Where should I request rooms to make this easier? The 1 bedroom is a savanna view and the studio is a value. Can I get these close enough to walk to each resort's amenities?

There’s a small bus shuttle that runs between the two lobbies non stop - so getting between the two should be easy. The walk is about 10 minutes.
The value studio will be on the 5th floor on Giraffe or Ostrich trail which are at the front of Jambo’s lobby. I’m not as familiar w/ the layout of Kidani’s villas - but you can request a villa on the Jambo side of the resort.
The QS restaurant, Mara, is in Jambo, and is right next to Jambo’s pool which has a more adult vibe to me than Kidani’s pool, although both are nice. Both resorts have areas with rockers were you can hang out as well.

I think the 4 adult kids would make sense in the one-bedroom just because there’s enough space for everyone. I haven’t been in the value studios but I’ve heard they are small. I’ve stayed in a savanna one-bedroom in kidani and it’s large and will have two bathrooms. It could be a nice place for everyone to hang out on the balcony for the animals. It’s not too far between hotels and they do have a shuttle if you don’t want to walk. Everyone will have access to both pools so you could switch it up throughout the trip.

If you want the one bedroom to be near Jambo, then you'll want the room to be in the south wing (7200-7500), Timon or Zazu section. Zazu is going to be closest to Jambo House when it comes to walking, as that elevator is furthest down the hall - however that also means you are furthest from Kidani's lobby, gift shop and pool. Timon is roughly halfway down the hallway and would give you nice access to all amenities in Kidani, while still making it an easy walk to Jambo.

Additionally, as mentioned above, there is an internal shuttle (Think small airport shuttle) that runs between the two lobbies about every 10 minutes.

We requested, and were put in a room, near the Timon elevator at Kidani, and we really felt that the location was perfect for our needs. We spent a lot of time at Jambo and we found the walk was quite reasonable, and we didn't feel too far from the Kidani lobby. However, if the OP thinks that her family will not want to walk, and will be taking the shuttle (I have never used it I like the walk) instead, then it is likely better to request to be closer to the Kidani lobby.

Are these rooms also on the sunset savanna?

We had a one bedroom savanna view and our request was Sunset Savanna near the Timon elevator and that is exactly what we received. It was perfect for us and our needs.

Thanks, this sounds like a good fit for us too.

Jambo House and Kidani Village are the same resort, AKL/AKV. So you can use either pool.
