Somebody I know was just telling me that her travel agent was able to get a group rate for Disneyland tickets that makes them half price. Is that even possible? I thought I knew all the ways to get discounted tickets, so I wonder if she's understanding correctly.

Well, if her TA is legit and this person has actually used the tickets to enter DL then good for your acquaintance! But what can I say, I'm skeptical. Even Dapper Day and Gay Day convention rate tickets weren't close to half off AND they are only valid certain days...

She might just be really bad at math. Lots of people overstate any kind of deal as being better than it actual is when you break down the real percentage or real savings.

Perhaps she's paying $200 more a night for the room? There's gotta be something in there.

However, if TA is buying at group rates, makes me seriously wonder what would happen when someone wanted to add a day. I had to show the CC used to purchase the tickets when we added days a few years ago.

I think I understand where she's getting that number now. If you get a multi-day ticket, the price per day can be about half what you would pay for a one-day ticket. So she's telling all her clients they're getting this awesome half-off deal on Disneyland tickets they buy through her. She runs a group you have to pay her to join, so I guess she wants to make it seem like it's worth it to pay her for her work finding all these "half off" deals.

I asked my friend to let me know what her total price is going to be so I can check. Seems a little dishonest for the TA to say it's half-price though.

Disneyland only has 5 day tickets so the multiple days are not as cheap as at WDW. One day is $105 and at 5 days they are $59 per day averaged out. Close but not 1/2 off.

So it's (almost) half off to buy the multi day ticket vs if you buy multiple one day tickets? What a deal! :)

A 5 day hopper is $335 and a 1 day hopper is $160, so it's less than half price per day once you add the hopper option.
