Half Marathon Finisher - Info Please

I was curious about the following questions (especially considering the weather) and was hoping one of you knowledge-filled individuals could fill me in . . . I see that about 17,000 finished the half.

How many:
- actually registered for the Half?
- actually showed up on race day for the Half?
- got picked up by the sweeper van and/or could not finish the race for other reasons?

Just curious . . . also wondering if more were unable to finish due to the weather than usual.

I was told that 7000 people where a no show / did not finish.

Wasn't the registration limit 23 or 24,000. I was actually shocked when I saw the finisher totals as it was higher than I expected. Disney never releases how many actually starts a race. I am not sure why but they don't. I would guess that approx 18,000 actually started but have no real clue

I was curious about this too for both the half and full. They were saying that close to 24,000 signed up for the full but the finishers total was significantly lower. I wonder if it was no shows due to the cold or people running into trouble on the course.

I have always been curious about how many start and don't finish. I have finished 4 marathons and have seen very few people that appeared that they would finish. I know that there are some but would bet that it is a very small percentage.

A fella on my weight loss surgery board did not finish the full due to blurry vision and balance issues so there is one that I know of.

I have to think alot of non-finishers in the Full is Team in Training mentors/coaches that start the race and then stand on the side of the road cheering other Team members on. I saw a bunch of TNT people with bibs on the side of the road cheering it. I am sure they didn't finish the race.
