We're going to be arriving on a Friday at around 12 noon, which park would you suggest that day?? I was thinking Hollywood Studio's since I've heard that you can easily do that one in one day.

Will this day and park be the only time u go to this park? If so I don't think that's enough time to do HS. But it's relaly not enough time to do any one park thoroughly. If I had to pick one park I would do World Showcase at Epcot- but if it's one that you'll be doubling up on- then it's jsut whatever you feel like doing.

I am also arriving so I could do a half day at a park and I am going to DHS. If I didn't do it then I would skip it entirely since my time is limited and it is my least favorite. Not that I dislike it at all it is just that I prefer the other three.

Since you are doing a half day in the afternoon instead of morning, I would skip Hollywood Studios. As there is a reasonable chance the Fastpass will be gone for Toy Story Mania. Fantastic ride and totally worth it.

I'd do Animal Kingdom on that day and save Hollywood Studios for a day you can get there first thing in the morning.

You may not be able to do everything, but I think it's your wisest choice. We have been able to do a lot in the afternoon there when we have gone. I think it really depends on what you want to do there and what you want to ride.

We're not too terribly picky, we'll be there for 8 days, and we go to AK for a breakfast the next day...so AK is out. I think that my son will like DHS the least. He's 5 though.

I have never had enough time in DHS for some reason (only 3 trips tho). The shows are longer than your average ride, and the wait before the show starts and all, it adds up. Your son might get a kick out of that car stunt show (I think it's called something like Lights! Motors! Action!), but it's only put on 2 or 3 times a day, and it's about a 35 minute show. But check out what else you all will like there and see what your "must dos", "could dos" and "won't dos" list is and decide from there. HTH. Have fun!

OP - you will miss TSMM if you go to DHS late (or stand in line for 2 hours). The other big rides your 5 year old may not be ready for.

I like this park a lot, but I think it is a full day because I love the shows - BandtheB, Indy, TS parade . . . it isn't more than a day though. You could do this easily as an afternoon - then plan a 2-3 hour morning another day for the big rides then hop.

If I had to do an afternoon with a 5 year old first day in - I'd go to MK. There are more FP options and lots of fast loading rides. Will break him in with the characters he knows and loves.

AK is better in the morning because the animals are more active, I wouldn't start a little one in WS at Epcot (they'll be bored) and FW at Epcot will have incredibly long lines by then - rope drop required and full use of FP!

I would go to MK for a day starting at noon. Lots of ride choices for a five year old, and lots of FP options! I've never done everything I wanted to do in a day at HS! All those shows, and ToT and RnR and TSM... I've never talked to anyone who did HS in a day.

My kids' first trip was really wierd the first two days, until we did MK on our third day and my daughter changed back into herself. I didn't understand that she kept waiting for "Disneyworld", aka THE CASTLE to know she was there. So keep in mind what a five-year-old thinks Disney is. I'd also vote for the MK; you won't get everything done, but if you just decide to be leisurely, see what you can, and probably enjoy the evening parade, I think you'll be off to a great start. Have fun.

I agree with the MK choice. dd would think I had lost my mind if we went someplace else first. Lots to do and it is what a kid thinks of as going to Disney all the other stuff is a bonus for them.
