I realize that this is a long shot, but we're going to DL on Sep. 17-18. Our flight doesn't leave on the 19th until around 5:00. Is there any way to spend half of the day at DL without having to pay for a full-day ticket? Should we simply buy three-day tix?

Thanks!

Rob

Sorry, but I don't think there are any "half-day" tickets available. Your best option would be to purchase a 3-day ticket.

I was pretty sure that was the case but I wondered if anyone here knew of any tricks or deals. The three-day is only $179 if bought online in advance.

Cheers,

Rob

Nope, no half day admission, but it isn't that much $$ to add a day to your park hoppers so just do that.

Unfortunately there are no half day tickets, but if you didnt want to get a 3 day pass, you could always do downtown disney half day instead of the parks. Have fun!

As others have said there is no partial day pass available. A 2 day pass bought online at disneyland.com is $143, a 5 day pass (2 days free) is $179. Gate price I believe is $199 for a 3 day pass.

If there is any chance you will visit Disneyland again in the next year then buy an annual pass from southern california Costco's. They are $269 but include a $50 Disney card good for food or merchandise from almost all stores and restaurants at Disneyland Resort. That makes the cost $229.

Our first trip together we stayed at a Marriott a few miles from DL and we bought a rewards package for the stay that included half day tickets. I believe they were "twlight tickets" because they were valid after 4pm as well but they didn't come from any convention. If you are a member of Marriott rewards check out their website for hotel deals around DL, some included tickets others include free pizza ect in the price of the room.

Thanks, we are Marriott rewards members. :)

Wait, so are you guys saying you can buy convention tickets without proof that you are attending that convention?

It's amazing what people will do to get cheap tickets (like risking themselves and their money by buying tickets from eBay or Craigslist)... even flat-out lie to get convention-only tickets that they are not entitled to.

Also, you are probably costing that convention money because Convention Twilights are a certain cost and if the convention-special page you go to has it for cheaper then the normal cost... then that convention is probably partially subsidizing the cost of that ticket to provide it at a lower cost to their attendees.

I don't want to agrue with you but I do want to say that when you attend a convention, which we have in the past, you are allowed to get tickets for your friends that are traveling with you. The tickets are not just for the attendees but their family & friends as well. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

Also, not to nitpick but I went ahead and bolded a section of your post. Note that you yourself used the terms "family" and "friends".

Yes, legitimate convention attendees are allowed to purchase Convention tickets for the rest of their travelling party, or in your words, "friends" and "family". Random strangers that you do not know on a internet website is not someone I'd consider "family" or "friends", two words that you yourself used. It's like if I purchase a bunch of Cast Member discounted tickets and then made those available to random people I do not know... it's pretty much the same thing and I KNOW I'd get in trouble for that.

What we have here is a few folks who aren't attending the convention(s) in question purchasing Convention tickets that are not meant for them off the special convention-only websites. These folks are not entitled to these tickets because again, they are not attending that convention or are with someone who is attending the convention. Also take note that those tickets might have special expiration dates as well so they might not even be good for their visit.

Jazzatola, just because you've had access to a convention-tickets site in the past because you went to a convention DOES NOT give you carte blanche to access other convention's sites and instruct folks to purchase convention tickets that they are not entitled to. Each convention has their OWN special site, it's not just one generic site that is kept up 24/7 for ALL conventions in town... each convention, if they choose to even offer tickets to their attendees, gets their own special page so it's all documented and it's all charged to the convention appropriately if they choose to subsitize a portion of the ticket cost.

Again, assisting Guests to access convention-only ticket sites that they are not a part of and are not entitled to have access to is wrong. Pure and simple.

---

UPDATE: The front page for any convention-specific ticket site clearly states, "Special tickets and savings only available for attendees and their guests". On the page where it lists all the tickets it clearly states, "All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention. Dates vary according to convention. Tickets are not available for purchase at the Box Office and are only valid for convention attendees and their family and friends.".

I don't know how that can be any clearer.

I think the OP's original question has been answered, so for fear of this thread getting any more controversial, perhaps we should let it fade into the mist on Page 2 or 3 or wherever. Things seem to have taken a turn, and we don't want to have to lock up the thread if it can be helped.

Hey guys,

Just a heads up and an request. I doubt that Disney would encourage guests to purchase tickets off of EBay, or via tickets that are earmarked for convention guests, etc.

Therefore these posts that try to show people how to get around the system are simply not allowed on the DIS. Any posts that tell how to get tickets illegally will be deleted, and the poster may incur infractions.

Thanks,

Mary Jo
