So I would like some advice on some travel plans I am making. We are traveling to Disney during the last week in August. My 5 year old son is really into star wars right now. So he really wants to go on the "star wars" ride. My plans right now are to make rope drop at Hollywood Studios and hit Toy Story and Star Tours. Then head over to animal kingdom and do the popular rides there (safari and everest). My issue right now is that I have a 11am reservation at Sci-Fi for lunch and then a 5:30 reservation at the Boat House.

How much time do you think it would take us to do Toy Story and Star Tours at rope drop without fastpasses (park opens at 9)? Do I make my fast pass reservations for Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom? I personally don't have a problem cancelling the Sci Fi reservation if I have to.

Am I crazy with these plans?

So, if I have this right, you're planning to do rope drop at Hollywood, then go over to Animal Kingdom for the afternoon, then to Disney Springs for dinner? That's a little ambitious, especially with a 5yo, but you could do it if you really want to.

Rope drop Hollywood -- absolutely do not be there any later than 30 minutes prior to park opening. Do Toy Story first and then Star Tours. Eat lunch. Use your FP+ choices for Animal Kingdom in the afternoon. I personally would either cancel going to Disney Springs or move the reservation an hour later to give you more time to get there.

Thanks kayemgi. I am not overly concerned with the Boat House reservation. My biggest concern is how long it will take us to do Toy Story and Star Tours first thing in the morning without FP+.

Get there early for Rope Drop (walk don't run) to TOY Story.. that one will go quick then head over to Star Tours... you can have both done within the first hour or less. If you do this at Rope drop then you wont need FP at DHS.. of course STAR TOURS has a few different versions of the ride so you might want to squeeze it in a couple times before heading off to lunch..

Use your FP at AK for Everest and the Safari...

Does your son want to do Jedi Training Academy or see the new Star Wars show? If you just want Toy Story & Star Tours you'll definitely get that done prior to 11am.

You may find that Star Tours does not have a long line when you get there. That's fairly common. There are multiple scene options for each segment. If the wait is short, your son may enjoy riding again.

I don't know if he would do jedi academy. He would probably enjoy the show though.
