Half.com - Anyone have any experience???

I'd like to list some books & stuff on half.com but the site is really hard to navigate. I'm used to ebay I guess.

What are the fees? I see that they cut a check or direct deposit. No paypal??

I've read posts where some of you have done really well with books. I have TONS! What about record albums? CDs?

Any tips you can give me would be appreciated.

I sold some textbooks at the beginning of a semester once and they sold very fast. I had a good experience.

Another questions: What if your stuff doesn't sell. What do they charge you?

They don't charge anything unless you sell. If your inventory isn't selling, they give you time to change things to get it to sell. If you don't do anything after a while they'll just remove your items.

Works very well. i'm extrmely satisfied. Great service too. if you don't get an item, tell them and you'll end up with a refund. I love it.

I began listing as a lark and selling on Half.com when it was just a few months old started by some guys with a great idea......I've sold tremendously once upon a time, and as other sellers began to list and thus more competition and price adjustments I'm not selling as I used to but I've only had the best experiences all told....and then they were bought by ebay and the competition got real serious......

list your books and all of the other items, this has been certainly a progressive site, I was selling when they were only selling books.....they are good business minded for sellers and buyers, good customer service and the interaction when you need answers from them is good......

I always compare selling prices between Half.com and Amazon.com. Sometimes they are very close in price, sometimes Half.com is a lot lower. I like Amazon a little better because of the following reasons:
1. Better Condition Categories offered
2. More visibility of the lowest priced items in each category.
3. Every 60 days your listing expires and you have the opportunity to rethink your asking price and make any adjustments before you re-list.
4. There "seems" to be a better class of buyer on Amazon.

Only Amazon negative is they have higher fees once the item is sold.

But, when I buy, it is usually on Half.com (evil laugh)!

I've sold a variety of books, including textbooks, and VHS and DVD videos on Half.com. No listing fee and you can keep the item listed indefinitely which is nice. I've had things sell months after I listed them.

One thing to keep in mind. Half.com pays you a flat rate for shipping. If you are selling a book that is particularly heavy, their postage reimbursement may be a fair amount less than your actual cost so price your items accordingly.

Other than that, I've been very happy with the service. I've gotten way more for things than if I had sold them at a yard sale and I've sold things that would never have sold in person. Most would have ended up in the trash or at Goodwill.

I buy/sell my text books every term. They pay up to 2x a month. So far I haven't had a problem.

I am an experienced eBay seller since '99 and I love half.com. Extremely easy to list, low maintenance and no worries about payment. Fees are reasonable as well.
