Hi all

We are thinking about getting half board plus vouchers and just had a couple of questions before I go ahead.

We are going for 4 nights and the plan is

Cafe Mickey (paying upgrade to Character Meal)
Walts
The Steakhouse (hopefully Sunday Brunch if the voucher covers it)

But we are stuck for our 1st night, we arrive at about 5pm 3 adults, 3 young kids I quite fancy Annette's but as we are looking at plus vouchers am I wasting the higher vouchers on Annettes if so does anyone have any recommendations where else we could eat. We are planning on eating and then going in to the park for the evening as we arrive Saturday and the park is open till 10pm, although I know we won't last that long.

Also if anyone knows if the Sunday Brunch at the Steakhouse is covered by a voucher I would grateful.

Many thanks.

I haven't seen anything on here about whether the Brunch is covered by a voucher, since the vouchers are quite new and the Brunch is not so frequent, but even if there is a surcharge you can have the face value of your vouchers taken off the bill. We ate this way in Annette's on the plus vouchers, choosing anything we liked from the menu. You are still saving money buying the vouchers anyway because of the exchange rate.

Thank you, I didn't think of it that way, I just assumed my only options were set menu's, well that's both problems solved.

Hello:

We just booked our 4 night stay at the Newport Bay Club and I am pondering the half board plus vouchers. DW and I regularly purchase the Disney Dining Plan when we visit Disney World to enjoy all that Epcot and the resorts have to offer, however I'm a little confused by the Half Board Plan.

Am I right in assuming that:

1. As long as you eat at one of the restaurants on either the Standard or Plus list that the entire dinner is covered (1 starter, 1 entree, 1 dessert)? Assuming no extras (wine, other). For example, I see on the Steakhouse menu (on the Half Board Plus approved list) an entre item: "The Chicago Steak House Cowboy Rib-Eye steak" for 60 Euro. Is this covered in total under 1 voucher? Or, do you have to apply the face value of the voucher and pay the overage? For example, at WDW, under the Disney Dining Plan, it would be covered in total.
2. The vouchers can be used at ANY other restaurant at face value even if they are not on the restaurant list? for example, can we use the vouchers at the Yacht Club?

Also, I'm trying to do my homework, but would like suggestions from the locals on where to eat for dinner that does NOT involve either a buffet or "American" (bbq, diner, etc) food.

Thanks!!!!

All the participating restaurants except buffet ones will have a special set menu with limited choice. If you choose from this menu your meal (and one soft drink I think) will be covered. If you choose not to eat from the set menu you can use the vouchers at their face value to be taken off the bill.

Umm, non buffet and non-American is quite tricky now you mention it! There's Auberge de Cendrillon which is French and very pricey, Blue Lagoon....and I'll let other more experienced eaters chip in now!

How about King Ludwig's in Disney Village (German), California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel, Manhattan in the Hotel New York (Italian). :)
