I'm working out a budget for our next trip and have been trying to work out if it worth buying the Half Board Plus Meal Plan vouchers in advance or use your Shareholders card and pay cash when there?

Last time we went it worked out cheaper to have the vouchers due to the Euro to Pound exchange rate, but this time I'm not too sure.

I've been looking at the resturant menus on-line and try to work out the cost of meals and converting the Euro to the Pound and subtracting the 15% discount and can't real decide myself.

My calculations at the moment make it about the same price as you have to add on the cost of a drink with the meal. So what you are saving on the meal you add it back on with cost of your drink.

I supose the advantage to the vouchers is that you have already budgeted for your meals before you get there and you get a free soft drink.

One thing I have noticed is that the vouchers are cheaper this time for the winter season than the summer season.

I think this is about it.

We've got the plus vouchers this time due to getting them when we upgraded and I think it's made choosing where to eat far harder! I wanted to eat at Agrabah Cafe but it seems like chucking money away using a plus voucher there - I keep reminding myself that in a way we haven't paid full price for the vouchers but it just sort of goes against the grain! :rotfl:

I wouldn't buy them again unless it was in a similar upgrade situation - I'd much rather stick with the shareholders card. :)

We've got a shareholders' card for this trip to DLP. Previously we'd always had half board to help with budgetting; but this year we will just use our credit card with our shareholders' discount card.

Like you I've worked out how much our meals are going to cost and then I will just have a running total in a notebook while I'm out there. I've not factored in the 15% discount as that should mean we can add another drink or cover something we might see at the restaurant that might be dearer than we've budgetted for.:goodvibes
