half board plus and AP discount

Hi guys,

Usually there is only me and DD on our DLRP trips, but this time we are a party of 6, so I'm seriously considering half board plus meal vouchers.

Thinking of booking for Cape Cod, and possibly the Beaver Creek tavern or Billy Bobs. These all appear to be buffet restaurants, and so the meal vouchers would cover the total cost.

What I wanted to ask though is this - if we decide we'd like to have dinner at Cafe Mickey, and can use the monetary value of the vouchers to offset against the cost of the meal, can I use my Dream AP discount as well? If I can, how does this work? Do I need to tell the waiter at the start of our meal that I have both, or only when asking for the bill?

Someone reported this in a trip report recently.

Apparently the way to do this is to hand over the AP when ordering the bill so that they take the discount off of the FULL amount and then when they bring the bill hand over the vouchers. If you hand them over together they take the vouchers off first and then the discount.

that was how it was explained to me for shareholders..... ask for bill and hand over shareholders, then when the bill comes, give vouchers, then pay any extra!!
