Halal food at Disneyland quick service restaurants?

My ODD is going to be going on a senior class trip to Disneyland this next February. 2 of her best friends are Muslim and eat Halal at home (for example, no pork products). I’ve tried looking online, but am having some difficulty finding info…any suggestions on how she could help her friends figure out which quick device restaurants at DL and DCA might have halal options?

Since you are looking for quick service suggestions, I am not sure this info will be super helpful. My guess is that the info can easily be found in "the binder" all food locations have (I've referenced them for a gluten allergy), but won't be easily accessible ahead of time. You could also try emailing Special.Diets@Disneyland.com. When I've done mobile check-in for table service at DLR, I've been able to choose pork as a dietary restriction, so the CMs and chefs should all be well-versed in their needs - and you can ask to speak to a chef even for counter service!

I frequent the parks with a friend who is Muslim, but doesn't eat strictly Halal (non-pork meats don't have to be certified, for example). This has made it pretty painless to find food options. Plant-based items are clearly labeled on most menus in the app, so that helps too!

Do the friends (not sure what ODD means) require their meats to be Halal certified, as DonnerB alluded to? If not, they'll have lots of yummy options at DL!

I don't know, but can find out! Based on what ODD has told me so far, I think that the only major restrictions so far is no pork, no shellfish, no food cooked with alcohol in it (no wine, beer, etc.).

Ok, the latest from ODD is that her BFFs have eaten fast food fried chicken before, so no requirements for Halal certified meat. I think that this probably opens up the possibilities a lot. Plus, DL has some really good vegetarian meal options, too.

Yes, if they are not super strict about certifiication, they should be fine. If they are unsure about the content of an item, they can just ask and I am sure the CMs can tell them. There may be some issues with items being prepared together. Like the hotdogs may be all-beef, but they often put bacon on them. I'm sure that can be left off, but I don't know if they are ever cooked together. I wouldn't think so, but it might be something to ask about.

Would the Shawarma cart in Avengers Campus fit the bill?
