Made it to SOCAL, warm cloudy , was up at o415 so just chilling, run in the AM, 2.5 miles to the bay sounds like a good route.

Had to buy the new laptop today. My machine was telling me I had a worm and was restricting me going into a lot of places. Even facebook was showing restricted. My games that came on the machine like solitare would not work.

I ended up with another Toshiba with a new quad 4 processor. It's supposed to be very fast and it has windows 7. I'm having the Geek Squad install a better anti virus and anti spy than McAfee. The mcAfee couldn't find the worm and was telling me my old machine was fine.

I looked hard at the Mac but couldn't justify the $600 higher cost for a compareable machine.

I was even locked out of my blog.

Hey Shannon,

A virtual race is one in which you don't get together and run a race. All the entrants do it in their hometown, on their favorite machine or trail, in your own time and report back to the others via the internet.

I hope that made sense.

Hi everyone,

6 miles in 53 minutes. Now off to wal-mart for some shopping. All my uber-pretty weather is gone, back to average 40s.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning!

Up at 4:45 to do 2 miles on the TM. Found that my leg was tight so I stopped and stretched. Amazing how 30 seconds of stretching out my old tight muscles makes a difference.

Showered, coffee ready and I'm set to stitch for about 1/2 an hour.

It's a good day! Hope all of you find time to work out and move that body, it just makes the day so much more bearable.

Good morning HK!

Wow, the poll for a virtual race is tight! Sigmund Freud is edging out by one vote right now! I am trying to get info on the purchase of the Virtual Turkey Trot medals. Any volunteers in helping me with the race?

Denise - you guys are on a roll!

Jennifer - Sorry your nice weather left, but as Dolly Parton says, "If you want to see a rainbow, you have to put up with the rain." She wasn't really talking about weather, though! :rotfl:

Dave - take care of that new laptop! THere are some great protection programs for your computer. They aren't Norton or McAfee! Glad you enjoyed Avatar, it's not a movie I have any interest in.

Margie - Are you out there???

Jack - Thanks

Well, off to pay bills and do a workout! See ya!

Morning Kids, had a nice 5 miles this morning, down to San Diego Harbor, coming back to the Hotel was up da hill for sure. Overcast but no Rain, Yeah meetings today.

Have a great day kids and enjoy life.

Good Morning Team!

I'm experiencing the end of January funk this week. Really hard to get out of bed for work. Still nothing exciting to report or any decisions of this year's race schedule.

Had a good run last night & back at it tonight.

Margie, How are things going?

Have a great day...........Sue

I had a chilly 6 miles this morning. 19 degrees but no wind so not as bitter as Disney. I bought better gloves and warm hoods since then so I'm better equiped for winter walking.

Hi Team!

Would everyone please extend a hearty welcome to our newest member.

Say hello to......Robert (ultramickeymouse)!!!

For those who don't know Robert, he is a huge Disney Fan. He's been through some serious surgeries and great pain the last couple years, but he's working on a great come back. He is also a race director and ultra racer. We can learn a lot from him. Plus, he has a wonderful sense of humor that we will all enjoy.

Welcome, Robert.

Hakuna Matata! - Connie

Welcome Robert (BOB?) sure could have used your knowledge a few weeks ago..... My feet have finally gotten back to their normal size :scared1:
Hi Margie! hope you doing well.
Working on budget again, like trying to herd cats :surfweb:
All municipalities are in the same boat here, just trying to keep our share of the pie...... it could be worse I know. :confused3

I did 30 minutes on the gym's indoor track. Didn't take time to count the laps, so I'm not sure what the mileage was. Even though it was cold marathon weekend, at least the sun was shining on Sunday. This seems to be my mantra for the weather around here:

All my days are gray and dreary
Everywhere I roam.
Oh Disers how my heart grows weary
For my Walt Disney World home!

Bring on some sunshine!

I've been so lazy the last couple of days. Today I blew off the gym and running. My shoulder has been hurting since last week. I went to the chiro today. He is suuuuch a wonderful man. I offered him my son since he made me feel so much better. Back to the gym and running tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I took the evening off from running. I wanted to give my foot a rest because I've been having some foot pain. I mentioned it to my doctor during the physical yesterday and she seemed to think it might be a hairline fracture. I'm going to have my physio double check because I think it's just a tweaked muscle or joint. Just to make sure before I go in and get a dose of xray radiation.

I also asked for a blood test (cholesterol, sugar, etc.) - which I didn't really want to do but thought I should know where I stand health-wise. She told me that doctors don't usually order blood tests unless there is a family history of something or unless I'm over 40. Interesting... Anyway I did push and got her to requistion a few tests. Now I just have to make sure I don't chicken out.

Robert - :welcome:

Margie - Hope you're feeling better today!

Sue - I heard several people saying the same thing about getting out of bed. Definitely looking forward to the new month and to the family day vacation in a couple of weeks.

Denise - I miss my morning workouts but the later mornings in the winter makes it difficult to get up. Maybe I should just get up and do an exercise DVD instead of running...

Dave - Yikes! That's some chilly weather! Glad you're keeping warm :)

Scott - Send over some of that warm sunny weather!

Have a great night everyone! :wave2:

Margie, you didn't miss the track update. Let's just say that there's along way to go. Few of the girls on the team can run a full mile without stopping.

Today was rest/cross training day. 45 minutes of Yoga and 15 minutes of core work.

Best,
Jennifer

I was actually able to sit at my sewing machine and work on a project. Yay! The tummy is doing better. My scabs and glue are coming off, so they itch. Sewing is a good distraction. So now I can catch up on the quilty projects before I go back to work.

WTG everyone keeping up with their work outs! Hope everyone else with aches and pains is taking it easy and much pixie dust your way!

Thanks for the warm welcome all :grouphug:

I am back working on getting into some shape again. As with many people 2009 has be a tough year on my family and I ate myself to feel better. 2010 is a new year with my old self coming back. I will drop the weight gained and have my happy self back. No more feeling sorry for myself.

Did about 6 miles today scouting a couple of race courses on 2(of my many) races that I RD.

Tomorrow is off to gym. That will be 6th day in last 10 days. Finally back on the bandwagon.

Every have a great night!
