Howdy Team!

Not much going on here. Big game is on. I'm not watching it though! :lmao:

I guess now, teams will be hosting virtual races.

  • Do we want to host a virtual race?

  • If we do, when do we want to do it?

Hope Sounds like a truly terrible surgery. But thank goodness medicine can fix that kind of thing. Don't rush the recovery!

Denise and Mark Good job on the early morning hours. I bet you will be surprised how quickly you are in terrific shape, again.

Margie I am so glad you are feeling better. That flu stuff hurts!

Dave Sounds like a rest was in order. Balance is always a good topic. Out of balance = out of sorts!

Lynn So good to hear from you. Working cuts into play time too hard! -- I can never remember a route either, Lynn. But it's not because of amnesia, it's because I am directionally impaired! I can always remember how bad I felt, or how great I felt and much on the course. I have to admit to being at least as interested in my surroundings as in a PR, maybe even more so! :rolleyes1

Scott Thought about coming to breakfast and then you went and mentioned Mangos. Wow, too much work!

Shannon, Kim, and Mike, Vicky, Jennifer and Jack are you guys still with us?

Outta here! Connie

This weekend was yucky. I took the day off yesterday and felt horrible. I felt antsy and lazy all day. I set the alarm to go off at 6am. I turned it off and didn't end up going out to run until 9am. It was cold and rainy. I wasn't able to finish the whole C25K workout. I'm hoping to have better luck tomorrow. Does anyone know if they make ID tags for shoes? I realized today that if I was running and got hit by a bus DH would have no idea. Also if someone were to try to call his cell phone from mine he would never answer. I doubt he would answer the home phone either. So my fear is I get hit by a bus and end up at a hospital as a Jane Doe and he doesn't have any clue what happened. This way with a tag then they know who I am and where I live. I know the chances of this happening are slim but weird things always happen to me.

Hi team! Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! I did my first LR (10 miles) since the half and it went pretty well. No nagging back or knee problems - yay! My ITB is a little tight on the right hand side and my left foot is a little sore. But I'm feeling pretty good :) This morning, I ran 5 miles in half marathon weather conditions but still felt great! No major pains to report either (knock on wood)! Both runs I did at about 10:40 m/m but I'm really happy with the 10 miler!

Shannan - RoadID.com has bunch of ID tags. I have the bracelet. There is a $2 off coupon kicking around somewhere. I'll see if I can find it for you.

Connie - I like the idea of a virtual race! My preference would be for a weekend in spring (or once it warms up).

Margie - Rainy weather here too! Pretty unusual for January but I'll take it over the snow and freezing temps any day. I started thinking about my BP because my mom has BP problems too. I'm going in for my physical next week which probably means blood tests, needles - ick!!

Dave - Wow! That's a pretty interesting idea :) Any plans to work on it?

Scott - You're always making something yummy! Btw, DF and I went to Boma last week and had their bobotie. We both agreed that the recipe you and Lynn came up with is so much better!

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Well today's the last uber-nice day for a while. The storm is moving in.

I did my 10 mile "long run" (doesn't feel too long any more) in 1:34. Feeling back in at least 1/2 shape.

Best,
Jennifer

We were able to do another workout early so we had time for our other duties. I felt good after and really all day. Not too tired. I think easing Into the process is best for now. We go back to wdw in March for 6 days and plan on a couple of laps around the BW.

Got stuff filed for taxes and new files madep for 2010. I usually take forever to get that done but it was my goal and I'm glad I met the challenge.

Important to set goals in all aspects of life. If we meet them great. If not well at least we gave it our best shot.

Vicky and Jen. You are too much!!

Jen you ready for Boston yet?

It wasn't terrible, but then I did have a morphine buddy and an assortment of drugs to help that out. But I am so thankful that it's on the road to recovery and doing well. It was pretty major surgery even though they used the Da Vinci machine on me.

Spent today at Denise and Mark's place, worked on my supervising skills as they organized (5 lb lifting limit). Also got to see the princess and her momma for a bit.

You guys are making me antsy to get out and go, but I still have a little while to go before I can. Even then I have to rebuild my foundation and ease my way back.

Good morning y'all.

I'm off to do interval training. We are currently doing 300m X4 and working up to 1200m X4. The State Senior Games, qualifier to National Senior Olympics, is 1500m so I should be ready for that easily. Then the National distances are 1500m and 5000m.

It's cold here again with a heavy snow forcasted for thursday and friday.

Hope, rest and be ready for spring training princess.

Vicky, no plans to make clothes for troops, that would be more in Denise's line making sharpnal proof quilts for children in combat areas. Kevlar linnings.

My 60 day seperation period is up today so need to check with the lawyer on status of divorce today.

Have a great monday guys.

Good Morning Team!

Another busy weekend. No time for posting, the weekend is over & it's back at work already.

Nothing exciting to report. Got out for 5 both days. Lots of rain but it sure beats the snow.

Still can't decide on races for the year. The next price increase is soon. Better get organized.

Have a great day everyone...........Sue

This morning was chilly, 34 degrees with wind and snow flurries. It was a good walk anyway. We did 2 miles to warm up and then 4 X 300m and a half mile cool down walk.

Now I'm relaxing and getting warm with a bowl of chilli. Today was nothing like as bitter conditions as Disney was and much shorter. That Disney race got me ready for winter walking in a big way.

The alarm went off at 6am for my run and I couldn't face it. I'm going to try to get out once DH gets home. I did go to the gym and do 30 min on the treadmill and some weights. I have to do a better job cross training so I'm going to try and add yoga this week. My workout buddy isn't ready for classes yet so I'm going to try and go back to the gym in the evenings for classes. Once I get back on track with yoga I think I'm going to give pilates a try.

Good morning, HK!

Wow, everyone is busy! Some pretty nasty weather conditions all the way around. We have wind and expecting to dip into the deep freeze later this week. Makes me appreciate the TM...a little! :rotfl:

Dave - You can make Sr Olympics happen. -- Kevlar clothing? I wonder what kind of sewing machine that would require. Upholstery, I think.

Denise - great job on getting out there.

Sue - Five for two days in a row in the rain. That's dedication and inspiration.

Margie - Are you better?

Jennifer - What fun, 10 is a small run!

Shannon - Road ID is definitely the way to go. I actually wear the FIXX ID by Road ID all the time. It's the Dogtag style.

Hope - No rushing. Denise, don't let her rush. It doesn't pay!

Vicky - Awesome on the 10 miles. That would be my really long run before taper, from here on out! ;) -- When I read that you would be good with a virtual race in the spring, my mind said: Wish Easter Egg Roll! But maybe later......like in late May or early June!

:wave2: Kim and Jack!

Welcome Shannon~RoadID is the one to get~ I was convinced after a bike rider was killed on the highway, his cellphone destroyed and no ID on him. It took 2 1/2 hours to locate family. I would urge everyone who runs, bikes, swims, hikes alone to get one.It also helps alert to allergies and health problems.

Good afternoon Friends :goodvibes yep still here, I'd miss our chats.
Hope the weekend went well. Working on the budget for next year :sad2:
We did have some fun today, department heads went to the senior center for a Wii Bowling / Luncheon. We labled it "brining the goverment to the seniors." ;)

Wind driven rain right now lines and trees going down :scared1:
see everyone in the AM

Jack

Hi Team! :wave2:

Sounds like everyone is doing great - me not so much!

Connie- :thanks: Nope, but then better is relative to how sick you really were, so at my very worse to now there is some improvement.

I told My Little Hagen this morning I was still sick and he said, 'It's okay Grandma, I help you!' :littleangel:

I read some of the post, but my brain cells have been seriously malfunctioning this past week. PTL I managed to stay out of bed for most of the day today! :upsidedow

Good Evening Team!

Speaking of bad weather, I got our dog walk in this morning, 19 degrees, wind at about 30 mph, our weather station said the wind chill was -10 degrees! It was cold, I haven't been that cold since the races at WDW!

Tried to get in a ride on the bike downstairs, but the knee wasn't cooperating - I am having it injected with fluid (can't remember what it is called) later in the week - sure hope that helps, this is getting really old!

I really like the idea of vitural races also! We had a great time with the Turkey Trot! The dogs even got medals!

Hope everyone has a great evening, hope to make it here more than once a week!

Connie, I know it is fun. Especially when I think that this time a year ago I'd never run more than 7 miles at one time. Now I'm complaining about 10 being too short!

Watch out newbies it can happen to you.

Jack and Shannan, I too use road id. I like the interactive version so that I can change my info when necessary. It makes my mom feel better.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today may be the start of track training (there's a long story there. I'll fill you in this evening)

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning Team!

Just a quick drive-by as I’m at work. Shhhhhhhhhhhh.

Got up and did my ellip this morning. I had lead legs so it was a LONG workout despite the minutes it took. When I was done I felt I had at least attempted something in the fitness area – as started my day on the correct foot.

I find that if I can get my butt out of bed and on a machine, I’m more clearheaded at work throughout the day. I also seem to be more efficient with my time in the hours after my workout at home. I was on time in my routine today and early for work.

Take care all, it appears to be a nice day here in NH. Love the January “thaw” we had yesterday with all the rain. Snowbanks are going down but I’m sure they will be replaced with another batch at some point.

I saw Avatar last night on the IMax big screen in Nashville. It was amazing, you felt like you were a part of the movie.

Off to do a pool workout since it's snowing and cold as a witches heart.

Feel better Margie!

Everyone have an amazing day.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning HK!

Had surpise company last night. My DSIL. I had supper in the crockpot already so it was juat a good time for visiting!

Starting on my planning for my future workouts. I have the OKC Memorial Half Marathon coming up in April.

See ya!

Hi Everyone!
