Hi everyone!

We're visiting our DD in Denver this week, so haven't been doing any running. Did take her dogs for a long walk a couple of times though. And I did some crunches to try to ease the pain in my back from sleeping on her futon.

Panda...Hope the new baby is doing well. Our DD was born 7 weeks premature, and has grown into a beautiful young lady. I sure your new grandchild will be just fine. Keep us posted.

Will need to get serious about training as soon as we get back to Indiana. The EE 5K is sneaking up on us, not to mention the half!

Panda, Congrats! And we need pictures!

School's been very trying this week. The honeymoon's over so to speak.
I did get to the gym this afternoon and got in 5.5 miles in 46 minutes. We're bracing for storms like most of the Southeast, so I figure I'm stuck on the treadmill tomorrow too.

Best,
Jennifer

Good morning team!!!!

Got in day 2 of the 30 day shred this morning...workout #1 of the day complete.....yaaaaaa

Good Morning everyone, back to the grind. Very nice day yesterday on the island. a little too much :headache: but did have 30 spf. Very productive meeting. These are the type of meetings that if you miss a few they volunteer you for stuff. Nice eh?

Will get down stairs for 45 min on the eliptical at lunch time.

Hope everyone is well.

Good Morning Team!

Hope the new mothers are doing well!

All of you experiencing bad weather - good luck today!

Nice here, but wind just came up, it is really blowing out there now. I did get out for short walk this morning - did not want to spoil dogs too much with long walks, even if my knee would hold up - as they will again not get walks for a few days. I also did get some leg exercises in yesterday, but no bike ride. Will try for the bike ride again today if there is a break in the wind.

Have a great day all!

Plenty Warm here in Dallas, but have gotten Runs in , one more day and I am ready to be home.

Hi everyone,

A combonation of hot and stormy kept me in the gym today. I did a 50 minute tempo on the treadmill. Got in 6.5 miles with a top speed of 7:10.
I treated myself to dinner out at the local Mexican place as a reward.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning:

Finally went out for 4 miles this morning. Came home, had some OJ, relaxed then hit the shower by the time I had my first cup of coffee, I was ready for a nap. 20 min later I woke up and got ready for work. The heat just zaps me.

But at least I got in a workout! Miranda is still holding onto that baby, I think by Saturday but babies come when they want, early or late!

Tomorrow we will start the moving process for them so I may be scarce from the net till next week. I certainly will find the time, even if by iphone to post of Josie joins the world.

Love reading about all the workouts, vacations, promotions, births and general day to day activities.

Take care,
denise

Gooooood Morning Hakuna Matata!!!

Things have been going well. I was cut to part time and my mid-management title had been stripped with the cut-backs, but I had reapplied for my job and the supervisor told me that I had done such a great job in that office and I had the job and she didn't even want to interview me! So...it'll be seamless, no paycuts or anything! I feel bad for those that have lost their jobs at work though. I had been there after 911 and it was not easy.

The baby is coming along just fine and we find out the sex on the 31st. We had tossed around the idea of doing the 3D ultrasound also. Jordan's sister had one with our niece and she loved it. They give you a DVD video and everything!! I'm still watching the weight issue and hoping not to blow up. Something tells me that our trip next month will pack on a few more pounds than I hope! Free dining is dangerous...but oh so tasty!!

I have been getting out to run/walk more. I got 4 hot sweaty miles in yesterday and 2 the day before that. I think I should be going to the gym with the heat as bad as it is. It's probably not so healthy for the baby if I'm bright purple in the face from the heat. I'm hoping to do a 10K October. A couple of my running/walking buddies said they would walk it with me to make sure I didn't push myself. It will be nice to get out there for at least ONE race this season though!

Vicky - Is your trip coming up soon?! What dining did you go with? Ours has changed so many times...and I'm thinking of changing our signature night again as well. And suggestions? We have Narcoossee's booked right now. Jordan likes the idea of the whole lobster.

Denise - Miranda and I keep track of each other on Facebook. She has given me lots of helpful info so far about clothes etc. Good luck with the move tonight! I'm excited for them. Let's hope Josie doesn't come during all the commotion of the move!!

Scott - Lynn will be in my thoughts and prayers. I didn't know until now that she was having surgery. Keep us posted!

Jennifer - Hope school gets better for you. Just think...you are accomplishing something that alot of people can't do. My hubby and I both tried school and dropped out during our first semesters. Keep up the good work...you'll be so glad you did!!! AND congrats on the coaching gig! That's great!!

Dave - I am still praying for for your new little guy...we need him to come home soon!! I'm sure with lots of love and care he will be ready in no time!!

To the rest :wave2: ...happy training and remember to HYDRATE!!! :drinking:
What was Dave's saying...something about "pee clear"? :lmao:

:grouphug: Hakuna Matata Hugs!!!

Good Morning Team!

I am again among the living - I was not sure for awhile yesterday, not because of the knee, but because of the pain killer they gave me as I left. It started to hit me as I got home after filling script at Walmart. I felt progressively worse during the day, and by 7pm, I just had to go to bed. The only thing I had to eat after the cookies they gave me after surgery was a piece of toast. I spent the whole day laying down, with ice on 20 min, off 40 min! Today I feel fine, knee still does not hurt (at least until after physical therapy this afternoon), and stomach is fine now that the pain killer is out of my system. I guess the knee was really bad - doc said he did all he could for it without doing a lateral something (moving kneecap over). I will spend the day again with the ice on 20 min, off 40 min, but I can walk fine - the crutches just got in the way.

Eva - glad you got your job back!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Lynn, you get healed up quick. It will be such a joy for you to be able to exercise without knee pain.

Eva, yes that was the Dave advice.

Everyone, have an awesome day.

I had a nice 5 mile training walk and even did a Ramblings about my thoughts this morning as I walked up the hills in the heat.

Dave:hippie:

Jennifer, Don't worry, I shoot back, always run with about an extra 4 pounds or so in the big cities...

Lynn is doing great and she will be headed to PT here real soon.

Eva, Thanks for the kind words! And I look at the coaching gig as a chance to have an even bigger impact. If I can get them to want to go to college, even if it is just so they can run that's a major impact. If I can convince them to stay in school or go to class, so they can run that's a great impact. I also can force them to keep their grades up to stay on the team. Luckily even though I'm at the elementary school. One of my best friends is one of the high school Algebra teachers and another good friend is one of the English teachers. I've told them if they ever have any trouble with my runners (academically or behaviorally) to let me know, because it won't happen again or they won't be on the team.

Today's my rest day and I definitely need it. Only two weeks out from that 14.2 mile race on Labor Day!

Best,
Jennifer

Jack, Hope that's a good kind of busy weekend not a bad kind of busy weekend.

I did 7.5 miles in 65 minutes this morning (8:40 pace). A little slower than I would have liked, but not to bad. I have one more week of training before a mini-taper. After my labor day race I'll start full scale marathon training instead of half training.

Best,
Jennifer
