Hakuna Matata - May; the Irish Month of Mirth and Merriment!

Good morning Team!!!

Hope - Hmmmmmm, sounds tasty, but I feel certain you mostly got the stinky part of all that ocean goodness!
See y'all! Connie

You mean not everyone loves being covered in lobster poo?...

I'm just thankful it went smoothly and no one claimed I ruined their mother's day.

Margie, Ky has just the state games and if you medal: gold, silver or bronze you get to represent your state at the National Senior Olympics. I took bronze in 2006 and did the Olympics in 2007. I'm going medal again in Sept and go to Houston in June 2011 for another Olympics. Last time I trained to arrive at the start healthy, this time I'm going to take a shot at a medal. It will not be easy, but you know what a dreamer I am. If enough of the good walkers have a bad day I might slip in there.

I'm having a frozen dinner and popcorn for desert but I'm craving BBQ Chicken Pizza. I guess I'll take Sally on Friday after I meet Dan in Nashville for a training walk on the Nashville hills.

We have the owner of a junk yard and a hair dresser running for congress here in Ky. I guess they can't do any worse than the current ones are doing.

Have a restful evening.

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Most of the night windy & heavy rain. They say winds are 20 to 30 mph.
Cloudy and high of 54° today.

Connie- hope your long trip to the grocery store was
interesting! Oh BTW - I seen a few bios are coming in and other adjustments!

Come on you guys get your mini Bios in :goodvibes

Dave- Interesting I did not know only State medal winners
went on to the Senior Olympics.
As for the BBQ Chicken Pizza
As for those running for Congress-cannot be any worse than what we have!

Jennifer- glad you are feeling better! :flower3:
Did you have this nasty stomach virus?
Please give the body time to recover before running again.

Scott & Lynn, Shannan, Sue, Taryn, and Vicky-

Margie there is a time you can do to get in without medaling, it's like an 8:30 1500m.

I just got my lazy butt out of bed so have to run off to the gym for pool work. I did get my 8 hours of sleep though.

Have a magical day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning Team!

It's a much better day, after all the wind yesterday! I totally understand "Black Blizzards" this morning. We had 60+ mph winds, and in Pampa, they caused a huge dirt cloud. Farmers are beginning to prep their soil for corn, but too much of it blew away yesterday. I had to drive through a dust/sand cloud so thick, I couldn't see, I had a turn coming up and I had to watch the white line to find it!

Jennifer - I am so sorry you have been sick. I hope there are no ill effects!

Margie - Is Hagen better today? Grocery shopping 50 miles away is always an adventure. Thank goodness for ice chests!

Mike - You would leave me in the dust! I am not a talented walker, nor am I quick. I have endurance only because I have worked hard on that! So, you would leave me in the dust and mud! :rotfl: I am not sure that I even have any talents!

Dave - You don't need other people to mess up to medal! You just need to do your BEST race. Then you will be a winner! -- I am with Margie on that pizza thing! But the politicians sound great! What better than small business people to understand that the dollars don't take care of themselves???

Special Type-Out :lmao:to:
Denise, Eva, figment82, Gerry, Jack, Kim, Kirstie, Lorelei528, Mary, Pam, Regina, Robert, Scott & Lynn, Shannan, Sue, Taryn, and Vicky-

Off to dust! I bet you're all surprised - Connie:upsidedow

Connie- I know this is close to you...hope all is okay! I will call :grouphug:

Several tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma and Kansas on Monday as the storms moved through the area, dumping hail as big as baseballs and leaving thousands of people without power.

Dave- Oh My that is Speedy!
Do they post the results of the National Senior Olympics?
Enjoy the pool workout!
Are we the only ones up(?) :confused3

Good Tuesday Morning Team!

Only time for another flyby.

Margie, Yes it's taper time but I don't do well with low mileage weeks. I'm too impatient. ;) I always have huge race anxiety & just want to get this over with.

Connie, 50 miles for groceries! You must have to have one thorough shopping list so you don't forget anything.

Robert, Happy Belated Birthday!

Doing a short run tonight. Then going from my bike fitting. DH bought me a new road bike. He's the best. :lovestruc

Have a great day..........Sue

Hi everyone! Just a quick fly-by for me today... Got in a run this morning and forgot that I need a little extra time to eat and drink something before heading out. Did a quick 2 miler which was nice.

Worked out with my PT last night - did some weights, core exercises and hip opening exercises. Got a nice complement at the end of the session last night. My PT commented that my workout buddy was making progress but said he'd be doing even better once he was able to get up to the same level as me :) Thought that was nice! Then I had another trainer come by who said he noticed how much weight I had lost. Yay!

Sue - Enjoy your new bike! Lucky girl!

Margie - We have rain forecasted as well. Oh well, better on the weekdays than the weekend :)

Have a great day everyone!

Someone sent me a letter to the editor that was pretty good. It was about how sick and tired she is was about the government caring so much about the rights of the radical muslim terrorists instead of caring about the safety of our own people. She was a Canadian.

Anyway, today was pool day and like every other workout I'm doing it was with increased intensity.

Dave:hippie:

Our question of the week: My favorite exercise and racing related song is "Standing outside the Fire", By Garth Brooks. It's the theme song for the Special Olympics. What is your favorite feel good racing and exercise song?

Dave:hippie:

Hi Team! :wave2:

Gerry- how was your race today? :goodvibes:

No race last weekend

My two kids did the mini Muddy Buddy

This weekend volunteering for the Orlando Ironman at Disney.

May try to squeeze in a 5k Sat am--been a few weeks

Gerry

Hi Team,

Just a quick one today. Did a 5K at the gym due to rotten weather. Got an email that Saturdays zoo run has 1200 entries. It should be fun!

Dave~ I'm from the eighties, but my music varies...the best for me is AC/DC-Thunderstruck, Judas Priest- Turbo Lover, and Dwight Yokaom- Fast as You , and the theme song from the movie version of Lost in Space

-Mike:cool2:

Feeling better today.

My kids took there first state test today.

I did 4 miles easy in 37 minutes.

A couple of races to add for the summer: June 12- Thunder on the Lake 5-mile Race, June 26- Helen Keller Festival 5-mile Race

Best,
Jennifer

Best,
Jennifer

This is group walk morning, my homies have no mercy, I know I'll need a nap after we rip off an 8 miler at sub 12 min walk pace. I wasn't limping after last week, the stretching and icing is working. I might just push the pace today and see how the homies hold up, Hee Hee.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Surprise more Rain Showers - Cloudy and high of 56° today.

Connie- :thanks:
Glad the tornados missed you. They were terrible!
But driving in that dust storm would be frightening! :scared1:

Dave- Have a great walk with your Team Panda!
Favorite Music for Walking – It is rare for me to use my iPod
But I do have it loaded with Veggie Tales For My little Hagen
to enjoy when we go for a Stroller Walk. :cool1:

Gerry- yes, I see from the Race Calendar that your DS & DD
were in the Muddy Buddy. I am sorry I must have missed your
post on how they did?

Jennifer- I will add your races. :goodvibes
Glad you are feeling better and was able to get a run in!
Did the testing make you as nervous as if you were taking the test yourself? :upsidedow

Kirstie- Yeah! your cute purple cast is scheduled to arrive today!
Also hope you guys are making progress with your chair repairs! :goodvibes

Mike- 5k at the gym on the DM or a Track? :upsidedow

Sue- those nerves - it is like you never did a race before!

Vicky-

AFM: Hagen is still sick, not keeping anything down.
He has an appointment to see his Pediatrician’s this morning.

Good morning, Team!

Scott and Lynn - Are you getting snow??? It seems to be going around!

Gerry - How did the kids enjoy the Muddy Buddy? Love to see photos of that one! :rotfl:

Jennifer - Wow, still feeling poorly and you managed to give tests and take a run! Amazing....

Mike - Have fun at the zoo run. I would think that would be a great time. I always imagine the zoo as being the one at Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs at the base of NORAD. That would be a hilly run!

Sue - Is your bike all ready? What a nice thing. Enjoy Taper, ignore the nerves! That almost never works for me!!! :lmao:

Vickie - Better the rain than the dirt flying around here! Although, the rain sometimes comes packed with tornadoes! Glad to hear your hard work is paying off!!

Margie - Night turns into day!

AFM - P90X should be here by Tuesday. I am looking forward to it...I think! Other than that, just the same old things happening.

See y'all - Connie

But I have a file on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/album.php?aid=203911&id=650615560

It was nice and warm on Saturday and with the fresh top-soil/ water mixture--not the best smelling stuff. They were very excited prior but not sure if I get them to do it again?

Gerry

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I’ve been MIA the last week or so. Work has been really busy and I’ve been feeling :sick:since Saturday. So lame! Actually, as I type this I am home sick….I am not sure what’s going on…I have a headache and feel sick to my stomach. :guilty: I didn’t even try to run on Sunday because I wasn’t feeling well. Last night I tried to go to the gym for my 3 mile run and I made it a mile before I had to stop and walk…then I made it another half mile walking before I finally called it quits because I felt so sick. I am really hoping whatever it is goes away soon. I have to be better by my first race or I don’t know what I will do!!! :scared:

On a positive note, I have decided to have lasik surgery and correct my eyes so I do not have to wear glasses. My surgery is scheduled for 5/21 (next Thursday) so I am excited and nervous about that. I am sure hoping I feel better by then!

Also, I finally made it to our local running store to get fitted for running shoes! They fit great and I am really liking them!:yay: Now that I have been fitted, it’s nice to know what I thought was correct in my assessment- that I have high arches and under pronate. :yay:

Connie- Yes I like mojitos. I’m hanging in there! Just really hoping I’m feeling better soon. Eventually I will PM you a bio…

Taryn- :welcome:to the team!!!

Hope- Did you hear if you got the job? Applying for jobs is always stressful. I think it is one of my least favorite things to do.

Vicky- Thanks! I’ll have to keep my eyes open on the garmin models. It may be a little while before I get one. I’m glad you were on the invite! If you hadn’t been on the invite, I would have guessed it was more about not hitting it off than about keeping it small. One extra person would not make that big of a difference. So when will you guys decide if you are going?

Margie- I’m so glad your stomach is feeling better. What else have you been able to eat/drink now that you’re feeling better?

Kirstie- How’s your cast? Purple is a great color!!

Gerry- Did your kids say they liked the muddy buddy after? Or were they more concerned with getting clean?

I have several songs I always listen to while I’m running. I would say my favorites right now are probably “Imma Be” by Black Eyed Peas, “High Road” by Fort Minor, “4 Minutes” by Madonna, and “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse.

That’s it for me. If I’ve missed any posts, I apologize.

Hope- Did you hear if you got the job? Applying for jobs is always stressful. I think it is one of my least favorite things to do.

No, I didn't get the job, my friend did so now she'll be switching stores :sad1:

So, I'm now trying for her position! So hopefully I'll get that one. I'm not too upset, I knew she had experience on me.

I tossed ice for a half hour today, moved a bunch of shrimp around, so I'm getting my cross training in ;)
