Hakuna Matata-Happy April

Good morning guys and pretty princesses.

Sounds like everyone is doing super. Who feels like they are in the best shape ever?

Rain is coming again tomorrow and will be here through the weekend. I have to get the rest of the mowing done today after my workout. I'm tired of rain "enough already".

Denise, wonderfull that you got your miles in yesterday. Yes always get in your fun stuff. My fitness endeavers and pampering my princess are my favorites. I used to enjoy the typical country past times, hunting and fishing, I still might fish sometime but not interested in killing animals anymore.

Scott, the princesses are all doing really good, we need to keep up. Can't let the ladies think we are slackers.

Well, this is me shuting up and heading off to the gym. Catch y'all later.

Walking Panda:hippie:

We're havin' to get used to rain again here in Birmingham too, Panda! Last year we were in a horrible drought with hardly ever a rain day and you could feel the air was parched. The year before that or two, we had enough rain to almost consider our area a rainforest:rotfl:

Past two days, I have eaten much healthier too - I am hoping to take off a few pounds before I arrive for the Minnie:cutie:

Happy workouts, Team Hakuna Matata!! :goodvibes

Dave, so Ture, I need to get my but in gear and get out a little. I got a big part of my work prep done very late last night, so I should get out there and hit the road adn weights.

These gals are a tough batch to keep up with.

How wonderful, Dawn! That is so exciting. :goodvibes I remember my first race because it was just last year on October 13. I did the 5K Race for the Cure and I was thrilled to finally have a bib and run for real :lovestruc

Way to go Margie on your PB :dance3: You were so lucky to go with a great group of wishers too! It is such a shame that I did not work harder to meet Lynn and Scott as we were milling about and might have seen each other.:confused3

Congrats to everyone for their runs. I am considering a 10K, I was invited by a group of runners I met at the Mercedes Half to register and run with them. I could consider it my last run for the Minnie since it is April 26. Do y'all think that is overdoing it or all right as a last longish prep run?

Lisa, once we get some WISH shirts it will be alot easier to recognize each other at races! A 10K is just over 6 miles, to my way of thinking, that could easily be a training run for the Minnie.

Dave - you must have a huge yard for all this push mowing you are doing!

I did get out for a short (1.25miles) walk with the dogs, did weights and a pilates tape yesterday. Today looks nice, although it is cold, wind is mild, will get out for a good walk/run today.

Have a good day team!

More rain headed to northern AL this evening too. Unfortunately since I run on a treadmill I can never use weather as an excuse to not run...

Happy Tuesday all!

Kristen

Good Morning,
It's Tuesday (I can't get motivated at work day). Much work to do but this is me :surfweb: I need to go out for a little fresh air at lunch to wakeup and get me through the afternoon.

Easy run tonight with only a 3 miler.
Hope everyone has a great workout...Sue

Good morning team! Hope everyone is having a great morning!

I'm still sidelined from running but getting a little better everyday - It's getting much easier to walk (quickly too) so I'm happy about that :goodvibes I'm going for a personal training session tonight so I'll see if my physio will put me on the TM. I never thought I'd say I'd miss the TM

Lynn - I was thinking of getting a 405 too! They're pricey though but look more like a regular watch than the 205 or 305.

PB for Scott, Carrie, and I :cool1:

Wow! WTG :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well did 3.5 miles at the track last night but was booted off because the girls lacrosse game was starting and I guess they didn't want the geezer's to get hit since it is early in the season and their aim isn't all that great. No matter I was on my last lap when we were asked to leave.

Today I'll have an hour of PT to add to my time. They are suppose to get a bit more aggressive with my training since it is helping. Gees, I start at 8 am - hope I don't sweat - I'd have to go back home and freshen up before heading into work.

Well off to make my face less scary. Have a good one. So nice to be back in the miles training lineup!

Morning Kids, Hit the TM this morn and did some weights...I think I am caught up for now with prep for next week.

We are expecting a winter storm starting today with up to 6" of snow adn winds in the 50's. Looks like TM tiem for sure.

Good morning Everyone,

Denise: Good job getting your track workout in. Good luck with the PT. Hope the neck continues to improve.

Bunnyfoo: Hope you made out well with your training session. It's amazing how we always want what we can't have. Hope you got the TM.

Kristen:
It's very exciting to see your ticker counting in weeks and not months now.

Lynn:
Hope you got out for a good walk without the wind yesterday.

Lisa: Good job eating healthier. I think running a 10K on Apr. 26th is fine as long as you don't really push the pace. You don't want your legs to be tired for the Minnie.

Dave: I can't believe you're mowing your lawn already. Ours is still so brown and dead-looking. Great job on continuing your stretching routine.

Dawnie: Congratulations on your first race. Remember how cool it felt to run during the race and you can look back to that when/if you hit a low-motivation point in your training. I'm so jealous of the flowering tree in the background in your picture. How beautiful. We're still at least a month away from seeing something so pretty.

Margie: Congratulations on your half. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

Sue: You are brave packing up the hats and mittens. I would be so afraid of jinxing the weather. (As if I really had any control over it.:) )

I've been babying my foot lately and it seems to be doing OK. Hopefully it will continue.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Good morning team!

Yes, yesterday was a nice day, and I did get a 6 mile walk in. I am hoping to do the same today, but the conditions are not as nice, cloudy, cold, windy, and rain and snow predicted for later in the day. But the dogs have a vet appt later today, and they will be really uncontrollable if they do not get a good walk in first!

I was just going to upgrade to the Garmin Forerunner 305 because I did not like that the 405 had less info on the face at any given time, but then I saw that you can change screens by rubbing the edge, like you change things on an IPOD, and that would make it easier, so now, I might have to look at it also. I am wondering if there will be any good deals at the Expo for the Minnie or DL 1/2 marathon. We will see.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Kids, well we got 4-6 " of white stuff.

Good Morning Team!

As Scott said, we got snow last night, although offically, it was only 3 inches (because of wind, the snow drifts, in one spot there is no snow, elsewhere a foot drift, so it is really hard to estimate how much actually fell, I'm not sure how they really do it), but forcasting for another 2-4 inches during the day today. Wind is also blowing at 20mph with gusts to 35 (again relying on the weather person, because our wind meter is frozen). Because it is not that cold, 30 degrees, the snow is very heavy and wet, unusual for here. I do not think the dogs will get their walk in today. For me, it is a scheduled weights and pilates day, but first on the list is to paint the room we are working on in the basement! I was planning on a 10 miler tomorrow, but that is not looking good either - there is no way I could do that distance on a treadmill! Good thing I got 6 miles in yesterday!

Look out those who are east of us - this storm is headed your way. National weather maps show it hitting the mid west today.

Have a great day!

Morning Team!

It's pretty and calm day here, today. Muddy though, rained all day yesterday. I am doing weight resistance and stretching today.

Thanks everyone, we got ALL of our hours and times in this week! The last I looked we are leading in hours!

Good morning y'all.

Please share my high today. Today was as close to perfect as a day could be. To start off I woke to a warm pleasent morning, a break for half a day at least before more storms, that on the way, get here.

My weight was 169.2, first time I've seen the 160s in a year or so at least. The body fat is holding at 10% but I'll take it.

I went to the gym and warmed up for a mile on the treadmill, then went out for a 4 mile walk on the hills. This was the first walk I have timed since my injury layoff. (7 weeks ago I was limping badly with the achillies tendonitis).

I walked my four miles on the hills at a comfortablely brisk pace, not even close to the effort of race pace. My split for 5K was 37:09 and the total time was 48:53. I was very pleased with this pace, 12:13 per mile on long steep hills. The last 100m or so I even sprinted in.

I finished my workout with an hour of stretching and calistetics, then went home and mowed the last section of the yard with the push mower. Now for some lunch and time to get ready for work.

Lynn, we have rain almost daliey, we have almost an acher of yard and just doing it one section at a time by the time I have all the sections done it's time to start over. You couldn't grow grass in a labratory under any better conditions.

We have to leave very early for the hospital in the morning so I will not be on again till late afternoon tomorrow. I'll check in then and let y'all know how Erica did.

Have an awesome day everyone

Happy Panda:hippie:

Hi Everyone,

Scott and Lynn: So sorry about the snow. Lynn, good luck trying to figure out how to do your 10 miler.

Dave: Congrats on a good wo this morning. Great job on seeing the 160's. Best WISHes to Erica with her surgery.

Connie: Glad you are having a pretty day.

I ran 5.4 miles outside yesterday. My foot felt pretty good. I wore new shoes and tried to run on the grass where I could and iced it a lot when I got back. I'm hoping that I was just imagining that it was hurting me.

Have a great day.
Cindy

Cindy Lots of Pixie dust for your foot!

Lynn and Scott Sorry you are having such a very long winter. Hope springs finds you soon!

Dave and Erica Lots of PD for the surgery and long drives today. Hope everything goes better than expected!

Everybody Make a great day, today!

Thoughts and Prayers are with you Erica! :flower3:

Panda said her surgery was scheduled for 9:am, they expect it will take a couple of hours, and he will update us as soon as possible. :goodvibes

Gym last night. The big plus of taking it easy and resting those muscles after the Half Marathon last Sunday is that I felt stronger last night. :cool1:

And it rained all day and it rained all night and more is forecasted for today.
I am thinking how green and beautiful everything will be when we can get out for a walk...next week. :thumbsup2

Yes our best wishes for Erica and Dave today.

Winter is still here, more snow adn wind yech.

Did 1.5 on the TM and weight this morn.

Good Morning Team!

Yes, winter is still here, but the good side is that by Sunday, the temps will be in the upper 50's to 60, and the snow will be gone and forgotten!

Yesterday, I ended up in the basement from 10am to 4:30pm painting, so I did not get any exercise in, except the 30 min of snow shoveling I did before going to the basement. Since it is still snowing and blowing out there today (30-40mph winds blowing snow around), I will do the weights and pilates tape that did not get done yesterday. The dogs will just have to suffer, unless I can get them to run up and down the stairs a couple hundred times:lmao: . The 10 miler will have to wait until maybe Sunday, since Scott says he will be working. Just hoping conditions improve by afternoon for our trip to Denver for a BB King concert.

pixiedust: for Erica today! Dave - take good care of her. And, congrats on the good workout!

Have a good day team!
