Hakuna Matada - Dashing through December!

Good Morning Team!

Vicki - Do you think your trainer will come up with any changes in your food? Take care of the ankle.

Pixie Dust to all who are in need! Have a great day all!

Good Morning Team!

Just popping in. Still very busy at work.......I was expecting a quiet time over the next week or so but it doesn't look like thats going to happen!

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas.
Enjoy your time with family and friends and safe travels to all.............Sue

Hi, folks,

Changed my diet today. Crazy to do this before a holiday weekend, right? All the tasty food gifts given to our family over the past week has just been too much.

I'm sticking to mostly protein and fresh fruits and veggies. The only starchy food that I plan to eat is oatmeal. Who knows how long it will last but I just can't stomach eating another holiday treat. I hope this will help me be ready for the half too.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with happiness and fellowship.

Merry Christmas!:santa:

Good Morning Team! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays to all!

Elizabeth - good luck with the new diet!

Sue - heres to a quiet week!

Pixie Dust to all who are in need!

Good morning guys. It's almost here, EEEEEK! I'm trained and ready though so no worries. I have a last 10 miler next wednesday and then just normal walking for a few days.

Lynn are you and Scott going on a Christmas trip or spending it at home?

Vicky get over that ankle issue, we need you healthy and strong for the race.

Mike and Rick are you guys going to be running it together or going it on your own?

Eva, you are so ready, I bet you will across that finishline and hungry for more, or a beer anyway.

Kim, we will probably see each other on the course.

I'm headed off to work today but I do get off tomorrow.

Mike and Rick are you guys going to be running it together or going it on your own?

That is a good question. If we end up in the same corral, it would be awesome to run it together since we pace ourselves pretty well. Let's see what Mike says... :goodvibes

Vicki: I hope the ankle bounces back and these last two weeks give you the time to get everything healed up so you are at your best on the 'weekend'! I just know you will rock it!

AFM: I had to run 6 miles today on my Long Run so I decided to make it fun and do a Virtual 10K sponsored by Robin Nichols. It was 25 degrees or something chilly like that when I started but the sun was out and that made it feel much warmer (if only in my mind). I ran with the Run Club at LifeTime Fitness. That was fun, except that it meant my Cardiac Hill was part of the route! I had to run both down and UP this thing as part of my 10K.

Wow! Welll, I did it! I finished in 1:06:27 (a PR by 10 seconds) with a pace around 10:42/mm or something like that. Given the rolling hill route and Cardiac Hill, I was pretty happy with that result. :thumbsup2

Next week is going to seem like I will be moving in slow motion. One interval run, one easy run, and a 3-mile Long Run (really?). Then it's time to start packing! W00t!!!!

Wishing everyone an awesome Holiday filled with family, friends, and laughter! Let us all give thanks for the blessings of our lives, and do something in support of those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.

Hi Everyone!

Checking in to say Merry Christmas to everybody! Hope you are having a great day!

Merry Christmas guys. I had a wonderful day with friends and fellow athletes. We had great eats and made some battle plans for our journey to awesomeness.

Hope everyone is as happy as me today.

What a busy but great weekend filled with family and friends. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend too.

Stuck to my new "diet," mostly, I did have a small bite of a dessert that I made. Feel pretty good today as a result of not overeating last night.

The girls and I have a mile run this morning to prepare for their Mickey race and then I'll head out for a run on my own as the gym remains closed until tomorrow.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, we did. Only got a dog walk in yesterday, we were hoping for nice weather for a bike ride, but it was not as warm as predicted, and there was a VERY cool wind, so we skipped the ride. We are now supposed to have high winds for the next 3 days, will have to see how it pans out.

Safe travels to anyone traveling.

This morning when I got to the track for my new, meaner panda, workout it was 25 degrees. (New Meaner Panda is an all weather warrior.) I did 5 miles on the track average pace 12:24 per mile, then 4 miles of speed intervals, 100s and 200s. Then I also did 4 sets of stadium steps. Tired panda but an awesome workout.

We went to breakfast after. Good start to the day. Wish it was warmer though.

Merry Christmas to my favorite shakers and movers!

At one point this last year I mentioned to my mom that as stocking ideas she could keep her eyes peeled for inexpensive neon green stuff for the race. Man oh man she found a ton of stuff. Some that I will use...and some that I will not... :lmao:

Yes Dave, I should be ready for the races. I am going to take it easy and get my "money's worth" on the course on Saturday. Sunday I am going to try to keep up with some fellow WISHers and keep a loose goal of sub-5 in mind. I will not care if I don't make that....Goofy is more of a just finish race for me! After Goofy I think I am going to focus more on racing the half. Prob get one or two in for the Spring. I'm looking at Martian and maybe Cleveland again. We will start trying to have another baby this year though so no marathon distances for me for awhile.

What are everyone else's 2012 goals?

Vivky - How's the ankle coming along?

Dave - You are ready for the races too!! Can't wait to see you!!

Lynn - Love the hippo you got for Scott. I love that some and found myself running to it a bit this year :upsidedow

EeEEEEEEeeeeeeeKKKKekekekekekekekkkkkkkkkkk!!!!! Okay. I just had a tummy flip and a freak out for a minute there.

Hope everyione else is doing ok! Gotta get back to work....

See some of you guys REALLY soon! :woohoo:

I have decided that, since I discovered that I can't touch my toes any more with my knees locked, stretching needs to be a major priority for me. Not the half way throw my leg up after a walk and bend into it but real stretching.

So short term goal is to touch my toes before I start the half portion of the Goofy.

Good morning, everyone,

Back to work for me but it should be a fairly light day because most have taken the entire week off at my office.

Had a great run with the girls at their school track. They still don't know about the WDW trip next week. We weren't certain that we could make it so we never told them, now it is turning into a surprise long weekend at WDW. All they know is that I signed them up for a kids' mile race south of our usual running spots.;)

Vicky: how is your ankle?

Dave: stretching should be a priority for me too. Great short-term goal.

Eva: sounds like I should be able to find you at some point during the race with all of that green!

AFM: treadmill work at the gym and a mile run with the girls at their school track this afternoon.

Safe training, everyone!

Good Morning Team!

Dave - I think your weather is colder than ours. Stretching is important!

Eva - Have fun with the neon green at the races and good luck on adding to your family! Scott fell in love with the hippo, at least he agreed to wait until the after Christmas sales - but we had to check on supplies several times before that to make sure it would still be there after Christmas.

Elizabeth - That will be a great surprise for the kids!

AFM - Nothing yesterday, got sidetracked with other projects, but need to get serious about the workouts, have been sliding too much lately.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Hello team! Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend!

We went out for Chinese food and to the movies on Sunday. We saw The Descendants which stars George Clooney. I liked the movie but I did think it was sad/depressing but there was some comedic relief which helped. We also went out to look at Christmas lights. We found one house that had a huge display, there were around 10,000 lights.

We had a 5 mile long run this weekend which went well. I got a new pair of running shoes. They're Asics Kayanos. I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, I need to try them again. I finished my outfit for the half. I'm going to wear a silver sparkle skirt over black capris with a black shirt. I found iron-on rhinestone wings at the craft store so I put them on the back of my shirt. I also made a sparkly silver headband.

My in-laws arrive Thursday. Luckily, I have today off from work so I'm going to finish the last bit of cleaning.

Have a good day!
Emily
