hairdryers in akl?

Not trying to highjack here or anything......but how are the hairdryers there? Do they work well? Are they small and the kind that will burn out fast? Do you happen to know the watts? Sorry, I have very think hair and a lot of it, takes tons of time to blowdry and I really would rather not lug my own dryer if I dont have to. Thanks.

I THINK it is 1200 watts. If you have very thick hair I would bring your own.
Many people say that they just work fine but I have shoulder length hair with a lot of body ( not REAL thick) and I need to have my own. This one took forever.

We stayed at POFQ last June and I was glad I brought my own hair dryer. The ones they have at Disney worked for DH, but my hair is thick and curly and whenever I used the dryer there it would turn off because I had it on so long and the dryer got too hot. Then my hair would turn to frizz. I think that was a 1200 watt and since mine is a 1600 watt, mine worked better for my hair.

Thats what I was afraid of. I need at least 1875 watts. And it still takes me forever and a day to get it all dry. And thats not even trying to make it look good either. Maybe I will just chop my hair all off sometime before then and not need my industrial size dryer, lol. Thanks for the info.

We're leaving in a couple days for AKL & my DH claims I have too much packed. I was thinking of leaving my monstrosity of a hair dryer at home but good thing I found this thread!! Seriously, without an industrial dryer to really get the frizz out, I would scare alot of small children. I've threatened to chop my hair off too, but my DH likes my long locks. Actually, I think I'll make him read this thread so he'll understand why I need to bring my own dryer. Only on the dis boards .....
