I am wanting to squeeze this in on DS's birthday. I have two questions...maybe three ;)

1. How far is the barber shop from Crystal Palace?

2. What time does the barber shop open?

3. If we go first thing...what's 'best guess' for time allowance?

Thanks!!

The barber shop is very close to the entrance to the park, on the left side of main street right by the fire department. The cost is 12.00 + tip and I believe it opens at the same time as the park... They run on a first come first serve basis and I would highly reccomend it . My DD had her hair cut ther last year and loved it....

I know...I have learned so many cool 'extra' things from these boards! I didn't know about this either.

I have 'heard' here that haircuts are $12 and they include pixie dust (glitter), colors, and stickers...as desired.

I think it will be fun for my boys (turning 8 and 9). They love to 'spike' their hair

This is a must for my family every vacation. My 2yr old daughter and 5yr old son love it! The barber shop is next to the Emporium and fire station as soon as you enter MK on the left hand side.

I would recommend getting there early, or during the afternoon parade. It is first come, first serve and well worth it!

If you're lucky, you can get a haircut and then step right outside and catch the parade!

Don't forget to tip the barber. They really go out of their way to make the cut an experience.

That is our first stop each trip. My husband and son get the best haircuts there. We try to get there first thing in the morning and never have more than a 20 minute wait. Well worth it though!

The barber shop opens at 9am (or at least it did when I visited on December 25). We got in line at 10am and waited for about an hour behind 5 people (2 stylists were working). They really take their time (which I love!) It is $12 for a child and $15 for adult, but most people were giving $15 total for child which included a tip.

You can get your hair colored lots of shades (washes right out) and you will get sprinkled with pixie dust whether you get a color of not! Michel (yes- that is how he spelled it) has worked there "forever" and did my son's hair. He is REALLY GREAT. He painted a Mickey head on the back of my son's hair after his trim. :)

Thanks elemusing :D

I would suppose on Christmas...the park opened at 9am. So...I would then suppose it opens when the park opens.

When we are there the park opens at 9 as well.

We have a 8:05 PS at Crystal Palace...we could try for haircuts right when they open, but then we won't get in the que for Dumbo and/or Space Mountain

Decisions, decisions

May have to leave it up to the birthday boy :hyper:

We are thinking about getting our 7 mo DD her first haircut there... Any thoughts about that????

They do first haircuts many times a day. They will save the hair and give the child mickey ears that say "1st haircut."

DD7 and DS9 had their hair cut last month. The haircuts weren't the greatest (uneven in many places) but the experience was priceless. We will definately do it again.

We went around 3:45 and had to wait for about an hour. Bobbi and Michael did take their time with each customer. Both children loved the "Pixie Dust" that was put in their hair. I don't know if the mousekeeper at the Polynesian felt the same way.

We had my son's first haircut done last week at the MK. We waited about 1/2 hour. He is just over a year old. It was one of the best Disney experiences we have ever had.

Here's what they did. First they put him in the chair. Then they covered him from his neck down with Mickey stickers, shoes, socks, everything. He proceeded to play with those stickers for about 20 minutes and never even noticed he was getting his hair cut. It was pure genius. We got the whole thing on pictures and video. He got a set of real Mickey Ears that say "First Haircut" embroidered on the back, a certificate with his name and the date - stating that it was his first haircut, pixie dust, they saved his hair and wrapped it up and sealed it with a mickey sticker. It was a priceless memory for all of us - for the low cost of $12 plus tip. How can you beat that?

Of course he's doesn't look like a baby anymore and that makes mommy very sad, but that's a whole other issue.......
