My son has had his haircut there twice. Its fun.
They have a collection of colored gels and pixie dust they will put in the kids hair.
Its first come first serve, so getting there at opening is a good idea.
I believe it was $12 plus tip. It is a great experience and really a pretty good deal. We had my DS's first haircut there and he has a certificate, we got a lock of his hair and he got mouse ears that say First Haircut....all for the $12.
It is first come, first serve so there can be a big of a wait if you are not there at opening.
DS loved it also (after he got done crying because he *hates* getting his haircut!) and the price was reasonable... $15 maybe?
DD also loved it, she got her ends trimmed a tiny bit and then got a Princess Braid complete w/pixie dust... very cute (and a great way to keep her cool as she has a lot of hair and mom cannot french braid!) also about the same price!
Haircuts, beard and moustache trims. (Note that they will cut girls' hair and do the pixie dust and stuff, but generally they will not "style" it. No perms, curls, color, etc. They do French braids and things like that, but it's a barber shop, not a hair salon.)
Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm (last guest taken at 4:30pm). Open seven days a week.
Price: Haircuts are offered for $17.00 for adults, $14.00 for children. No reservations; first-come, first-served.
Other: "First Haircuts" are their specialty. Kids who receive their first haircut at the shop get complimentary Mickey Ears and a certificate.
When we went at the end of March, beg April, we were told that they no longer do french braids at all. This was being enforced as of the week prior.
As WDsearcher stated "This is a barber shop not a hair salon" was exactly what we were told by the barber there.
My DD had gotten hers french braided in Oct last year and so I decided to get mine done this trip.
i wonder if it's based on crowds/how busy they are... when we were there wdw was a ghost town compared to most times of the year which may have made a difference... my dd will be devastated if she cannot get a "princess braid!"
When we were there last year they braided my both my DD's hair and the little one did not like it at all. I have her on video practically ripping her hair out. The wait was a lot longer than I expected because they spend so much time on each person. They don't hurry through at all which is nice.
