I really want to do this with DS (2.5). I have cut his hair before, but he's never had a "real" cut.

Has anyone done this or can advise on time? We have a very short trip, so I don't want to wind up waiting forever for a haircut. It is better to go morning or afternoon, etc.?

Thanks everybody!

My best advice which works every year is to watch the parade right outside the barbershop, typically no one wants a hair cut while the parade is passing. Monitor the shop, as it empties walk in with no wait. We do this every year. Most of the time you can catch the end of the parade & walk right in with no wait. We do this during Thanksgiving week which is traditionaly crowded.

The barbershop ion Main Street specializees in First Haircuts. But they do not take reservations so if you go, go there first as soon as you get in. It is worth it!

My daughter had her first hair cut there this past August. We had to wait for about an hour, but the time passed quickly. She was two and a half and acted like she got her haircut every week. It is definitely worth doing at least once.

We did this our three year old son in Feb. of 07
We went in the morning just because he gets cranky later in the day.
They are very good and used to this thing. Go for it!!!

I got my haircut there when I was 29 and loved it!! Regarding the wait, it seems to move pretty quickly and it took me about 45 minutes in total. This was in Sep/06 so it wasn't very busy in general...

My DS had his 1st haircut there and my DD will have hers done this Jan. We go right away at rope drop. I say don't miss doing this!

Our DS will have his first haircut on Main Street next week for his 1st birthday. He doesn't have a ton of hair but can still get a trim. We are planning to go first thing in the morning on his birthday. We can't wait!:goodvibes

my dd6 got his haircut there on saturday and just loved it. it was $14 and they even painted and added confetti. he loved all the attention he got walking around mk.
we got into the park about 10am and there were only 2 people there before us.

Thanks everybody! I'm so excited about doing this. DS is 2.5, and I've always cut his hair until now. He's such a little ham, I think he'll really get a kick out of the attention. And what a great way to ensure a handsome little man for our photos! (Not that he's not the most adorable kid in the world according to his mom anyway!... As are all of yours I'm sure! :goodvibes )
