Hair Wraps

I posted this on the family board and thought I would post it here too.I just wanted to post that my DD got the Conair Hair Wrap for Christmas and it works great! I was real wary of getting it for her, we had purchased the hair braider and it didn't work worth beans. This works great, of course it is definately a 2 person thing,( it even says on the instructions it is). It only takes 1-2 minutes to do a strand of her hair (med length) and she absolutely loves it. We are going to go to the craft store and buy some embroidery thread before WDW so she can color coordinate her hair with her outfits. Not sure how much it costs at the parks/resorts to get it done, but thought I would share.

I am so glad you posted. I was wondering if it really worked. I had my 3yr. olds hair done at Blizzard beach in Disney and it cost $37.00. I gave the boy a $3.00 dollar tip since he was sweet and patient with her. I am going to get one next time I am out, but I know no matter what , Julia will still have to have it done in Disney. Also, they do give you an estimate as to about what it will cost ahead of time.

I was wondering about this thing too as we have paid twice for both daughters to get their hair wrapped at DW and it gets expensive! Of course as mentioned there is someting about getting it done there that appeals to the kids.

Where can you get this done in either MK or Epcot? I think our daighter would love to have this done.

We bought the hair wrapper from Conair also. It is easy and fun. However, at Disney, you can pick numerous colors. With the Conair, you can only do one and have it take a couple minutes. The only way I have figured out how to do numerous colors is to do about an inch and then tie it off and start on a different color and do about an inch and knot it off. I almost wonder if it would be easier just to do it by hand if I'm doing numerous colors. There are only two spools, so you can only do a two color wrap. If someone has a better way, let me know.

we bought one for dd for xmas and I think it's great. It only took a minute or two and we bought the whole machine for less than one hair wrap at CBR.

Do you have to buy refills from conair or can you use string that you can buy at a craft store? Thank you!

I havent seen the hair wraps at the parks..only at the resorts.

You can buy string from the craft store. It shows string and embroidery thread in the picture that came with it.

I do it by hand all the time, it really easy to do. But HARD to get out, how easy is the conair wraps to get out.

They are really easy to get out, which is another thing I am glad for. My DD is very tender headed and she doesn't even flinch with it.

poohcrazed - my daughters got this done in the MK right outside the Pirayes of the Carribean ride. Haven't seen it in Epcot, but I haven't looked either.

My daughters also got their hairwraps right outside of Pirates. It was expensive, but it was also totally cool having it done right there. They made quite a fuss over the girls, which made it even better! AND the wraps lasted from June until October, so the price per inch worked out to be pretty inexpensive in the long run!

My daughters got a hair wrap on the Disney Boardwalk last year and a few years ago at MGM.

My daughter got hers done the first time at Animal Kingdom, and the second time last December (a year ago) at DTD. Next time, my youngest DD is going to want hers done too! Another thing to add to the budget! They do last a really long time, if you avoid the lighter colors that might get dingy-looking.

My daughter also received this for Xmas and I agree, it works great! We'll be taking it along in August!!
