I know, it shouldn't matter, but here is my question...

When going to Disney is it better to have short or long hair?

I am going to get my hair cut next week, I still have about 2 months before our trip but am trying to decide if I should just get it trimed so I can still put it up........ or find a cute short cut that would be to short to be put up.

I have had pretty long hair for a LONG time, but donated it to Locks of Love about 1.5 years ago, so it has grown out some, but not long enough to donate again.... right now it's in that inbetween stage, I could keep growing it or just chop it again so trying to decide and what better way than to see what other Disney goers say is better.

By the way, my hair is stright. Very fine, but lots of it, so pretty thick. I am not one that spends tons of time on a style, but would if it wasn't super hard...

any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks

I tend to have my hair cut just before going to WDW, but usually not so short that I can't tie it back. I find there's a sort of middle length where it's long enough to get in your face, or make your neck sweaty, but not be long enough to tie back. I try to avoid that length!

So I'd say, if you're going to have it cut, either have it cut so that it's still long enough to be tied back if you need to, or have it cut so short that it won't get in the way or cause your neck to become sweaty.

I'm in the process of growing mine out. Why?? Just for our WDW trip. It's so much easier. I just hate the growing out stage. We don't go until Dec. so I'll be suffering for quite a few months. Janice

Many years I have gone to WDW with very long hair. I would pull it back. After a day with it up I would get a headache and my neck would hurt. The next time I put it in pig tails which helped. This time though I think that I will cut it. I can wear it down or have a little pony tail, which won't weigh as much.

I think I will put my hair in a pony and see how my head feels after having it up all day....... when it was long it use to hurt my head so I always wore it down. If it doesn't bother me, maybe I will just get it trimmed so I can pull it up when we go.

Also, do you all wear hats alot when in Disney? I did get a new hat for the trip, but am not really a hat person so I guess we'll see!

Thanks

I say keep it long enough to put up. Even with short hair it will still be on your neck and then your hair and neck will get all sweaty. I never have trouble getting a headache if my hair is up, so when I am at WDW my hair is in a messy ponytail the whole time. It sure makes getting ready in the morning fast!!

Ponytail!! Then if you want to still wear a hat, stick the pony out the back of a ball cap. I stole my daughter's new cap - it is hot pink with white and rhinestone "PRINCESS" letters. So cute!!

I'm in the exact same boat, but I elected to cut it short. My hair has a natural wave to it and I just find it to be frumpy when I let it grow out. I like the style of the shorter look.

I vowed I was *not* going to cut it this year, but I just can't do it!

Either way, you can't go wrong -- it's Disney!

You just described my hair. I recently got mine cut. I took about 5" off and now my hair rests just at my collar bone. I find this to be a good length for my hair. It's enough length to allow me to pull it back into a pony tail, but it's also not too much length. When my hair gets long, due to having so much of it fine or not, it just makes me look weighted down.

Im actually trying to grow mine out. The past 2 times I got it trimmed, feathered instead of cut. I usually wear a boy cut but its time to get it to grow out. Not sure how I'll do our wk in August

Just got all of mine chopped off today, it was just a little past my sholders and couldn't stand it any longer. My hair is very thick but fine and when it gets hot and humid it just falls flat and out of any pony tail holder. Guess I don't have to worry about that any longer. :)

I have had very, very short hair (almost a pixie) for the last 7 years. I keep trying to grow it out and then it gets to a point where it drives me nuts and I chop it all off again. So...my vote is for SHORT hair. It's soooooo easy...it literally takes me 60 seconds to blow dry it. Then maybe a spritz of hairspray or gel and I'm out the door.
I do wear a hat when I am in WDW, but it's more for sun protection than anything else.

I prefer long hair. Put it up while you're at the park, and if you have reservations at a nice place for dinner, wear it down.

i too am growing my hair out for my trip in oct. i have fine thin hair. i just need another 2 inches or so and ponytail will be my fashion statement at disney.

As a person with fine stick straight hair let me vote short. I love my hair short. When it was long I would just put it in a ponytail and after days and days of ponytails you might as well have short hair. It is easier and less fuss. I wake up shower and go. No more curlers or blow drying my hair for ever and ever. oh and think of the money you will save on shampoo. I use less shampoo now.:rotfl:

I am thinking it's going short...... the last few days I have been putting it up in pony's and pig tails... and by the end of the day my head is hurting and my hair is in my face (the bangs part of my hair just don't stay back, even though they are as long as the rest of my hair... )

So I am looking for a short style. Anyone have pictures??

Thanks

if your hair grows fast and ponytails hurt then cut, but I always put my hair up and am trying to grow it back-I love long hair...even though I get hot I can't cut my hair again!!(magic growing potion would work for me!!:wizard: )

Thanks!

I googled the Sienna Miller and really like her short cut... so right now that is what I am thinking! My hubby likes it too, so that is a +!! Not sure when I will end up getting it cut now. I cancled my appt. because I wasn't 100% sure of what I wanted. But now I think I am pretty sure!

Thanks Again!
