I was not exactly sure which board to ask this on and then I saw the thread of deoderent and sun screen and I figured I would give it a try. My hair is horrible when I go to Fla. It is normally fairly straight but it does have some body. When I get there it just hangs or frizzes and I am not a person with frizz!! I have used those shampoos that help defrizz but it does not work. Anyone have any suggestions as to what product would work. My hair is shoulder length and in a bob. I see people with beautiful hair inspite of the weather any suggestions.

~ frizz-ease serum (other brand serums work well, too)
~ "balms" ~ like gels, but less drying (my favs are pro-v and selleca)
and when all else fails, a ponytail

btw, i learned to let my wavy hair dry naturally in Fla ~ using the dryer in an attempt to keep a "straight" style gave me major
frizz-head with an hour) ~

THanks anything is worth a try. I have done the ponytail thing to death but it gives me a headache. I will try the dry natural thing even though I do not have curly hair. It could not come out worse!

My daughter and I have the FRIZZ hair from H#LL, We take a shower the night before and then wear a VERY lose ponytail overnight, since you don't get the mark from the hair elastic (because its loose) it straightens out the hair and I am the type of person that *has* to shower in the morning, I just pull my hair back up into a pony tail in the morning shower and when i get out, I put a tiny bit of pomade into my hair, its sort of wavy at this point, but NO FRIZZZZ!!

I live in Florida and my daughter and I both suffer from frizzy hair. I always use Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade just run a small amount through your hair and it really calms down the frizzies. It cost a little more but it's totally worth it IMHO. :-)

Thanks again. I think part of my problem was too much conditioning. I will try the pomade. I do not care about the price. At this point I spend 50 or 60 dollars for products when I am down there and never get any results. At least if I get somthing here (Mass) it might help with our humid weather. I like the pomade idea. Especially it is one of the few avenues that I have not traveled.

In my salon, I sell this gel called Split Personality. Its from Head Games. Its a nice light gel and really helps with the frizzies. This is what i recommend to my customers and I also use it myself:)

I use a product called SunSilk. Its got special frizz reducing shampoo, conditioner and aloe serum. I haven't been able to find it in this country yet (I got it in the UK). So if you see it definately try it (and let me know where I can get some more when I run out.)

I use KMS flatout - they have shampoo, conditioner, balm, etc. I purchase it at a local salon. I've also seen it at TradeSecret in the mall.

My friend uses this for frizz and its a type of hair wax. Ill try to find out the name of it but its in a white can and thus is a spray on, smells really nice actually, and has a green leaf (i think thats it?) on the bottle. Its not super expensive (liek $15/bottle) and you can spray it on in the morning right before you leave and your hair will not be hard like it is with hairspray and it helps some of the frizz, if the other methods aren't working perfectly try adding that to it and just trying to comb it lightly to work it through your hair.

i just bought this at walmart. It was only 2.50 and it works great. It's a hat! I won't even have to brush my hair. A very cute girls cap. I could get one in every color!!!!

I also suffer from frizzy curly hair. In FL it is the worst. Looks like a willow tree within a few minutes of being outside! I use Luminaire Hair Gloss. I also find that after drying my hair I put it in a loose ponytail for about an hour and it smooths my hair out nicely for most of the day.

That's what I do too! Or, in the morning, wash it and slick with serum or gel, put into ponytail or twist up into bun. When it's dry I have nice smooth hair esp. good if youre going out in the evening. And I'm not dying of heat under the hairdryer.

In general, don't forget to use a GOOD deep conditioner at least once a week. I used to leave it on over night thinking this was even better until my hairdresser said that leaving any conditioner over the recommended time, except for lthe leave-in type of course, actually dries out hair.

I too have the same problem. I'm going to be on the lookout for these products. I just washed my hair in the morning and put it in a ponytail and let it dry naturally. I have one picture of me at Planet Hollywood where I wore my hair down and I look like a wet dog! My hair looked so bad from the humidity.

I too have problem hair. My hair is naturally pretty straight but one tiny bit of humidity and that's it for me. It looks like I haven't washed or combed my hair. I tell you the only thing that has really helped me. I bought a straightening iron (w/ceramic plates). A really nice one($90). It seems to seal out all the moisture and has really helped with all the frizzies. This will be my first trip to WDW with it and I'm hoping to have nicer hair this time so that all of my pictures don't come out with a goofy ponytail. I hate myself in a ponytail. Hope that helps! Have a great time and great hair!

Most of the time when I vacation in Disney World, I put my hair in pig tails! My hair is natural curly and I always straighten it out at home, (Colorado), but in Florida it's harder to keep my hair straight! Besides, I'm on vacation! I don't want to spend all my time in the bathroom straightening out my hair. :D Between blow drying, using a flat iron, and styling, it takes me over 25 minutes to do my hair. (And no, I never wear it curly.)

I totally recommend a flat iron and a type of pomade.

Try a spray/leave in conditioner. My daughter and I both have the frizz with humidity and it helps greatly. We use the Aussie brand and it is fairly reasonable and really does work. It is also good for keeping your hair conditioned with a lot of swimming /clorine from pools is terrible for hair. And unlike detanglers they don't use alcohol in them to dry your hair out. We pick it up at Walmart .

Flat out usually works for me too. It helps if you use a large round curling iron with it. The heat helps seal the hair and you still have some wave but not frizz. However.....nothing seems to work when we go in Sept between the rain and humidity. I just let my hair go curly. If you want to keep it curly try Making Waves by Graham Webb. It really helps with the frizz but doesn't weigh my hair down to much.
