OK, I think that title sounded weird, but I'll explain!

I'm currently searching for a great hair & make up person for my wedding day. Money is no object with this & I am willing to pay for the best person for the job.

I have zero clue on how I want my hair and make up to look. I've looked and looked through magazines, but the truth is, I just have no idea what looks good for me. I normally don't wear any make up (aside from occasional eyeliner and lip gloss if we go out to dinner) & my hair is typically very plain. I just do not have a good eye for this stuff, so I am heavily relying on a hair and make up person who will be able to look at me and be inspired to make me look beautiful when I fly out to Florida to do my trial run. I definitely don't want anything crazy or eclectic, I just want to look pretty on my wedding day.

So, I'm looking for a hair and make up person who has enough talent to be able to look at someone and offer a style that will go with my face, know what I mean?

Was anyone else in this predicament? & do you have any suggestions on who to choose for my hair and make up, based on what I wrote here? I've been looking into Patricia LeJeune and Beaute Special, but I don't know much abou them, except that they are pretty popular on the Dis. I'm open to suggestions to look into anyone though!!!

Thank you in advance for your advice and recommendations!

I've heard alot of great things about both Patricia Lejeune and Beaute Speciale. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
If money isn't a problem, I'd suggest doing a trial run. Most places will do this for you before the big day. That way you can get some ideas of what would look good for you.
If you aren't from the area, you can do what I'm doing. I'm getting my normal stylist to play with it, give me some ideas, and I can see what looks good. Then, when you find something, take a pic of it and bring it with you!:goodvibes

I had Beaute Speciale do my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures, as a trial and I LOVED them! I had it done at 6:30. My hair holds curls really well and it was still curly the next night. As for makeup, my face tends to look like its makeup-less only a couple of hours after I apply it. I told this to my stylist and she told me no worries. And she was right! The makeup still looked good for dinner that night, and even lasted through a nap! And the stylist was so personable! I booked them for my wedding!

Also, I know they're great because they did Samantha's Brown's hair and make up for the Disney Dream inagural cruise. And both my photographer and wedding planner are getting married this spring and they are both using Beaute Speciale (and their prices are really good too compared to other places I checked out.)

I also used Beaute Speciale for my engagement pictures and will be using them for my hair/makeup and my bridesmaids' hair for my wedding. I loved Jackie, who did my hair/makeup that day. I knew what I wanted for hair, but left my makeup completely up to her - and she nailed it! I would totally put my faith into them (and I am). I'm sure if you tell them about your gown and the style of your wedding, they will be able to suggest something. I also agree that a trial would be a good idea if you are able to do one with them before the wedding.

Thank you for your suggestions so far!! I just emailed Beaute Special and I'm hoping they have my date available!

I am absolutely planning to have a trial run, no doubt about that!!

If anyone has any other suggestions, or photos of the work your stylist did, please post here!!

i don't think you will go wrong with anyone highly recommended here, irregardless of your budget. however, once you know what you might do for a veil and your dress style, i would recommend going to your regualr stylist (unless you live in orlando) and play around. surely you could select something you favor - modern, simple, glamour - whatever! :)

get some ideas. if you make a trip and can do a trial run, do it. you can bring ideas then or play around then. i personally wouldn't just book someone and not have any idea myself of what i might even want BUT these folks are very talented so i wouldn't be suprised if they could pull it off!

My stylist is Jackie too :goodvibes

most make up professionals will be able to know what looks good on you. I mean, this is what they do for a living. I think the main thing is finding someone you feel comfortable with.

I've worked as an actor for many years and I work with Debbie and her team from debrasdos.com - we've established a relationship and I trust her. I would highly recommend Debbie and her team.

Again, find someone you feel comfortable with. Remember, this is what these girls do for a living. They know what they're doing. Just make sure to openly communicate. Even if you don't know what you want, I'm sure you know what you don't want. As they're working on you... communicate if the colors are too much, too little.... they will fix it until it is perfect for you.

Good luck!

I has Patricia LeJeune do my hair/makeup for my December wedding. I had no idea what I wanted for makeup and the only thing I knew I wanted for my hair was that I wanted it down. I had a trial run with her in July when I was there for my planning session and she was an absolute DREAM! She was patient, had wonderful ideas, and was able to pin down exactly what I wanted. She ended up doing the hair and makeup for me, my three bridesmaids, my mother, and my mother-in-law and everyone looked fantastic. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Here are some pics in case you'd like to see her work! :goodvibes
