Hair/Make-up/Photography Help

Are there any past disney brides out there that can give feed back on the hair/makeup stylists on Disney's list? I do not know where to begin picking a hair and make-up stylist that I have no experience with. Also, does anyone have any opinions on who to chose for a disney photographer? Thanks for your help.

I cannot help w/ hair and make-up, but I'm sure someone else can. We are using Randy Chapman for photography. He is an outside photographer, not Disney. However, he does AMAZING work and is cheaper than Disney. Many brides on here have used him and they can show you his great work. He comes highly recommended. I have spoken with him on the phone and through email several times and he is very nice and gets back to you quickly. Good luck

It used to be that if you were selecting to use Disney Photography you were not able to choose which photographer you had they were just assigned to you on the day! That is why we also chose to go with Randy Chapman - he was amazing and such good fun too!

For our MK Shoot we had a Disney Photographer called Ty - he was really good too!

For hair we went to the Ivy Salon at the GF...the girls were great...and did the whole wedding party which was 10ladies
We had a friend do everyone’s makeup...so cant help there

For Disney photographer we picked Joe Duncan...he was the best, great attitude and a wonderful photographer, he really knows how to get the shot....(oh and we did pick him, had a pre-wedding meeting...i didn’t even know it was a rarity as i don’t recall kicking and screaming...but i could have )

Lets see, for hair and makeup, I am using Lisa from Lisas Magical weddings. I have talked to her several times and she is a real sweetheart! I can't wait!!

For photography, we just booked Christopher Patrick Photography! We decided not to go with Disney because of the prices and we were told we wouldn't be able to choose who we got! Christopher is such a great person and we are so excited to be working with him. He takes a lot of artistic/photojournalistic shots which we love and his prices are great!! (Plus the Disney wedding discount doesn't hurt!! )

I recommend hiring Randy Chapman as an outside photographer to do your wedding. You can pay the $600-some-odd dollars and use him-- turn out with TRILLION times better photos (which last a lifetime mind you)... and use your already paid for Disney Photographer for an even exchanged disney Honeymoon photo shoot!!

I seriously recommend it... I would say approximately 8 out of 10 brides here use him-- and ive not heard one bride doing anything less than RAVING about him. Seriously-- go check out his photos...

I filled out an information form on Randy's web site a week ago and didn't get a reply. Calls to his daytime number have gone unanswered except once when I got Linda. She said to fill out a contract and payment form, which I've faxed but haven't received confirmation they've booked my date and she's taken a deposit. Are they very busy right now or is this their usual speed?

they must be very busy-- they are typically VERY on top of things...

E-mail him and within a few days he should definately get ahold of you.

He works nearly everyday-- and often times more than one or two weddings per day.

Linda is his wife-- she is also very involved in the business. If you filled out your form and sent a deposit-- i would assume that Linda would have only done that if your date was available. I called and requested a receipt sent as well.

Definately e-mail them your concerns and everything should be worked out promptly!!

GL!! You wont regret the decision of going with him- i promise~!

I would just keep trying to get in touch with Randy. We booked him for our January 3, 2008 wedding and it appears that he is having some email problems. Some of our emails are being delayed coming and going.

ChocolateMouse: We have been corresponding with Randy to book for our wedding. Generally the response comes within a few days, as I think he's usually busy doing weddings, and tries to get to them as quickly as he can. However as others have said he was having a few e-mail problems several months ago and was not receiving anything. So who knows. We just sent him an e-mail yesterday, and will let you know when we hear back from him.
