My DD would like to get her hair braided. I know that they do it

on the island, but what about on the boat? How quickly do these

appointments book? Any ideas on the costs? Lastly.....does it

hurt???? My DD turns 7 on 11/4 (our 1st night)...Does anyone

have any info...I would greatly appreciate it....

Usually, the sign ups for braiding are on the first night outside of the theater around 5 or 5:30. I know we got there about 15 early and there were about 6 people in front of us.

My niece had the crown style with a zig zag pattern, 11 rows for $22 plus tip. She had hers done around 10 that night so it was done and out of the way!!!

She did make a "few" funny faces during the process. It stayed in for about 2 1/2 weeks. Just make sure to put sunscreen on the rows. When you take them out, soak with conditioner first to avoid all the pulling.

Our DD got her hair braided on the ship. Since DD was paying for this out of her money, she was very specific with the braider. She was only going to spend $20 on braiding, and discussed with the braider in advance on what could all be done for $20. (Plus the tip of course). The braider gave her several options, and DD picked the one that she was most interested.

One of DD's friends got her hair braided on DCL a couple of months before we went on the cruise, and it cost her parents about $54 give or take. DD didn't want to spend THAT much of her hard-earned funds on braiding.
