Hair and Make-up

Hiya fellow DIS Brides!!

I'm at the stage now where I'm considering booking my hair/make-up but I'm not sure who to go with....

who would you all recommend and why? What were they like to work with, expense wise, end result etc.

I'm at a loss with what to do with my hair as all I ever seem to do is straighten it - I need someone who can be calm in a stress out. I will stress out over my hair

Well I would recommend Beaute Speciale. I just had my hair trial this past week and I loved it. The girl Laine was really wonderful and great to work with. Prices I found were very reasonable especially considering what bridal hair and makeup cost where I am from. You can check their website and they have their prices posted. HTH.

I used Lisa from Lisa's Magical Weddings just last month and she was great! Very nice and on time for both my appointments with her. She did a gorgeous job with hair and makeup, would use her again in a heartbeat! She is also one of the least expensive to use Good luck!

I had Laine do my hair for my wedding last July without a trial, and it turned out just like the picture I had (even better I think). We also had, (I think) her name was Kerri for make-up and she was fantastic! She made a couple of suggestions and said that if I didn't like it, she would take it off and we would go with something more traditional. I LOVED how her make-up matched the victorian look of my dress and hairstyle. They were both really fun and young! It was just my MOH and I so the 4 of us had a relaxing great time

For my engagement pics, I did a hair and makeup trial with Beaute Speciale and loved them! I had Jackie and loved her so much that when I booked my wedding with them, I specifically asked that she do my own hair and makeup (we are having 3-4 people come out to do my wedding party's hair and makeup)

I loved Patricia LeJeune. She is great - I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! Her and her team also did all my bridesmaids hair/makeup and my mothers and everyone looked gorgeous. She is sweet and a perfectionist - she makes sure that you feel comfortable and love the makeup and hair.

I constantly stress over my hair! I wound up really disliking my hair on my wedding day, so I say definitely research a lot of styles and if you have a trial definitely do more than one look so you can make an informed decision before your big day.

I used Patricia LeJeune, and while I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't her fault that I didn't like my hair, I also feel like she didn't want to be "bothered" with showing me an updo at my hair trial. When I asked to see it up (I showed her a pic of an updo and she told me I'd like it better down, so she showed me that first) she took all of my hair in her hands and piled it up on my head and said that it'd look like that if she put it up. We were going to be late for our engagement pics so I didn't fight her on it. I wish I did because on my wedding day I had my hair down and it rained so hard my hair didn't stand a chance. It was so frizzy by the time the reception started.

So my advice is to do your research, have a trial and try more than one look, and most importantly if you don't like something, SPEAK UP! Do not be afraid of hurting peoples feelings. I wish I listened to my gut after the trial and had them do an updo, but that's in the past now.
