Hagrid's Moterbike Adventure for a Ride Coward

I know Hagrid's Moterbike Adventure is supposed to be amazing and that people love it. I also know, based on what I have read, that the ride is not for me. Is it possible to go through the queue and then leave without riding? I know Forbidden Journey had a system before Covid where you could go through the line touring the castle and then not actually ride. Is there a similar sytem for the Hagrid ride?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

All of the rides have some sort of 'chicken' exit. They aren't going to force you on the ride if you don't want to do it - that's not what the screams are ;)

I know we had someone in our party leave the line right near the end. They didn't feel well and hoped it would pass by the time we got to the load station (since it was a long wait). We saw an exit prior to getting to a TM bear load, so she took that.

You can wait to the end if you want - just ask any TM that you see along the way if you are near the load, and, if so, how to exit.

There are actually several times when you could leave the line. In fact, right before you go into the last room, there is a staff member standing right at one of the doors, you could always just tell them that you would like to leave then.

While you can probably do this, IMO the queue isn't THAT interesting.

FJ's is the best obviously because you're going through Hogwarts, and Gringotts is cool too becasue you start in the bank and then go through the underground areas. But Hagrid's line IMO pales in comparison. It's a really long queue with the odd room here and there with some kinda neat things, but if it's a long/slow moving line it's not worth it.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree.

And I think the first pre-show is still off so that room is just a walk-through.

We went this morning, and didn’t realize there was a preshow, so probably still off.

My kids loved the queue, but oldest is a Fantastic Beasts fan, so he enjoyed figuring out the different magical creatures depicted on the wall drawings.

We had a non-rider with us, and the child swap area is currently outside near the exit. It’s really easy to get out, if you don’t want to ride. YDS almost chickened out, but an awesome TM talked him into trying it, and he liked it so much he went a second time!

thisnon rider appreciates the info!

If you do make it, defini recommend the sidecar over the bike! my chicken son felt more secure in the side car and was tota freaked out on the bike side.

I'm not a thrill ride person, but I love Rock N Roller Coaster and Everest. How does Hagrid's compare? I don't do Hulk or Rip Ride Rocket.

Hagrid's has no loops or high drops. There are some launches (but even sdd has a launch) and one backwards portion (shorter in length than Everest) and one part that drops like Rise. It is less intense if you ride in the side car and not on the motorcycle. If you can do RnR and Everest, you can do Hagrid’s. It’s SUCH a fun ride. Best ride in Orlando!

I went with my 2 grandkids(11 & 13) They were in front so I was by myself, felt silly in sidecar w/ nobody driving but also scared of being the driver but not as passenger. It is fun and exhilarating ... especially for most of us that will never have a motorcycle.
Hopefully single rider will return and I will have a happy guest escorting me in the driver seat.

The castle was much cooler when it was themed for the dueling dragons. I agree that it’s not worth trying to go through if the line is long. You maybe could find it on YouTube

My husband has very bad vertigo and has to be careful what kind of rides he goes on and he always waits in line for us and then bails last second. He still likes to experience the queue’s even though he won’t be riding.

I’m an even bigger wimp and Everest destroyed me. I love gringotts and mine train. Am I too much of a baby for Hagrid’s?

Everest was worse for me. But maybe that’s because at Universal I wore sea bands and took ginger pills. I think it really helped with motion sickness! It’s a great ride! I was in the side car which I hear is less intense.

I always say that Hagrid's is a much faster, much smoother version of Big Thunder Mountain. If you don't like surprises, watch the videos on-line. There are two parts that would have 100% freaked me out on the ride if I hadn't known they were there. I like the sidecar better than the bike (IMHO the bike is a bit of a wilder ride).

Hagrid's is not for you if you don't care for roller coasters. And I agree with others that, unless you are a huge HP fan, it's fairly boring to do the queue (I'm actually a big fan and didn't find much value in it). That said, if you want to hang out with the rest of your group until the end that is certainly viable. You might also want to consider serving as the bag person so that your friends don't have to deal with going to the lockers. Get a butter beer (or beverage of your choice) and hang out in a shady spot to chill out.

This pretty much confirms my original thought. Last time I went to Universal with a friend, she went on most of the thrill rides and I held her bag while she enjoyed the rides.

I know about most of the "chicken" exists. Sometimes I sit in the sun and other times I stay with DH who will ride anything and then "chicken" out. (We know before we get in line that I will be over and out before the ride. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: )
