I know I have heard that the Hogwarts ride was not all that great at accommodating a bigger person, so I am wondering if this new attraction also suffers from this problem. Any experiences?

It totally depends on the individual.

We saw plenty of people who I didn't think would fit ride it. Do I think a 400lb person could ride? No probably not. But you would have to be a really larger person not to fit. And unfortunately that happens in life.

You could never call me small by any means, I fit easy and I found it comfortable. Even when we got stuck a while.

Let's be honest these seats are not designed for you to be sitting comfortably in them for twenty minutes, so if you get stuck, yeah you may be a bit uncomfortable but it's not that bad at all, I found the type of seat they had was quite accommodating to my butt.

There are test seats outside too, so try them out too. It's such a fun ride, I hope you get to enjoy it :)

It does indeed. Worse, I think, because there's a leg component, too.

See this recent thread. http://www.disboards.com/threads/gringotts-ride-for-heavy-people.3377891/#post-53055181

Even the actor that plays Hagrid likely can't ride the HP rides.

I wouldn't say better or worse than Forbidden Journey. I would say different. Like you mentioned, Gringotts is much more concerned with the leg and thigh components. Forbidden Journey is more concerned with chest and shoulders. And both of them have issues with the gut. I am big all over and while I can ride both, I have a tougher time with Forbidden Journey than I do with Gringotts. In designing the seats to accommodate a 42" height requirement (instead of 48" like the mummy) they gained some kids and lost some Hagrid sized people who can ride.

My DH cannot fit on FJ, but did fit on Gringotts. He was not able to fit in the test seat, but decided to try anyway, as the rest of the family was riding. He figured he would wait on line with us and if he didn't fit, just exit while we rode. He mentioned to the people working the ride that he was worried he wouldn't fit and they told him to try the last row, as it is bigger. He actually fit, no problem, and was very glad he tried. I think it is row 3 and 6 that are bigger.

There was a large man next to me on the ride who had to get out because he didn't fit. It was embarrassing for him I'm sure but the ride attendants warned him before he tried to board

So are there any rides in Harry Potter Land that a Hagrid size person can ride?

I would try the back seat if you are worried about not fitting. There are test seats for the rides but I would still give it a go with the real ride. So,entires you just need some extra help getting restraints closed/ locked to fit. Rides that shouldn't be a problem would be hippo griff if you get your own seat, hog warts express both ways, ollivanders. Then there is all the shops, shows, interactive wand areas, restaurants, listening to moaning myrtle in the loo, wearing your potter gear out and about, castle tour and sending an owl post.

Even if you aren't able to ride everything there is plenty to see and do⚡
