Haggis, I want some

Ok, I just watched Andrew Zimmer eat haggis on bizarre foods. I always wondered what it was. If I didn't have to make it, I think I could eat it. Is this something we can get in Orlando? What does it taste like? Has anyone ever eaten Haggis?

I have had Haggis a few times but don't know if you can get it in Orlando. I didn't see it on the Raglan Menu when there. It isn't as odd a flavor as you may think. there is much more hype surrounding it that it deserves.

I am lucky enough to me surrounded by a Celtic Heritage group in my town and sponsor a large Celtic Festival. at the least, I get Haggis every fall during the event in the hospitality room.

It is delicious - I would easily sent you some but I dont know what customs would have to say about it

We have Burns Night ( to celebrate the birthday of our most famous poet) coming up on 25th January and it is the custom to have your Haggis, neeps and tatties that night

I have a can of Haggis that I bought at Marks and Spencers when I lived in Bermuda....I still have it because knowone would eat it....or take as a gift.

It came in a lovely plaid box with an equally pretty design on the can. Maybe someone can check and see if they still sell them in the UK. The sealed can will get through customs.

We have a gaelic studies course at our school.
Every year on Robbie Burns day, the teacher and students bring haggis around to all of us as part of their celebration. The students are so excited... they get some of the best candid pics of staff for the year book after we've taken a bite. It's doesn't actually taste bad, I just don't care for the texture. Darn, this year I'll be in WDW on Burns Day! I wonder if anything will be happening at the UK pavillion?

I agree, the texture isn't good for me either. Haggis isn't bad. DH and I have had it in Scotland when we visit relatives -they all truly love it! I thought they were just pretending to so we would eat it but no, they love it. We dipped it in sauce before we ate it. Seeing it hanging up in the butcher's was pretty nasty though. At least to me.

I know there's a Scottish-American society in Orlando (my mom's Scottish and lives in Orlando ) and quite a few Scottish pubs in the area. There's one called Will's that she likes, I think it's downtown on Mills...?? Anyway - they'd probably serve haggis.

I have never eaten it, but I've smelt my boyfriends house after they ate it! Doesn't sound like my thing!
