we have tickets to the dessert party with plaza viewing tonight. Assuming it doesn’t rain, what time should I plan on having the fam over to line up for the party? The time on the ticket says 7:45pm but should we get there before that? What time do they move you to the viewing spot? Thanks!!

For Plaza Garden viewing, there is no need to get there any earlier than 7:45 pm. In fact, we like to arrive a little later to try to get a table mid-mezzanine (the level just above the terrace viewing guests) and so the buffet clears a little as there is typically a rush at the beginning of the party.

People will be lining up well before 7:45PM, which I personally think is overkill... but people do it so to each their own. I’m a bit like @DisneyWishes14 in that I’d rather get there late (more like 8-8:15)... no waiting in line and no sitting around. We don’t really need more than 10-15 minutes of dessert time anyway.

You can “move over” to the Plaza Garden whenever you want. You initiate the moving, not them. You can walk over yourself or ask to be escorted over. It’s easy enough to go yourself but if you don’t know what you’re doing or it’s exceptionally crowded, the escort is a nice option.

Have fun!

Thanks! Do you get a better view if you go over to the viewing spot earlier rather than later?

Sort of a variable answer, from my perspective, but I think most of the views from the Plaza Garden area are of similar quality. There are subtle differences, but no real “bad spots.”

My personal preference is to be more towards the left if facing the castle, which gives you a bit more central castle view. I also prefer to be toward the back against the railing. I’ve sat in various places and have pretty much come to the conclusion that I like the back rail the best.

Generally speaking, there is still enough room to move around a bit once the show starts if for some reason you don’t like your view, someone stands in front of you, etc.

Good luck!

Worked out great! Thanks everyone! It was freezing cold but the show was beautiful!
so glad you had a good time!! I am just curios did you arrive a little past opening time, say 8:00? We are doing this in April and I recall reading that there can be a line to get in right at opening. What time did you head over to the viewing area? Sorry. For all the questions, just trying to plan. We don’t want to be standing in line at 7:30 waiting if it isn’t necessary.

My wife and I did this in December and walked up around 8:00 with no issues.

We didn’t really care for the desserts, ended up eating a bunch of chocolate covered strawberries because it’s hard to screw those up.

The firework viewing was great! and decided if/when we do it again that’s what we would be paying for.
