I am soooo excited I just booked my hotel for a week stay May 22 - 29 at the Sheraton Vistana Resort for only $238.00 :goodvibes. I got it with my in-laws time-share. I was wondering if anyone has stayed there before and if it was a nice hotel. I can't wait this will be my families first time to WDW ever so any suggestions would help. I was wondering how do you PS at the restaurants? Can any one help me with this? I would like to take the DS 9, and DD 6 to at least one character meal. Thanks

Vistana is wonderful, huge and close to Disney (as well as Publix, SuperTarget and SuperWalmart). If you are going to have a car and want more info, just ask!

...also, it's not a hotel in any sense of the word. it is a resort and the rooms are basically condos. What size unit do you have booked and how many of you are going and what ages?

Wow, that's one of the choices we are debating trading into this Sept. Looks great on the web site. Does anone have an opinion wich is better, the Vistana resort, or the Vistana villiages? I haven't been able to decide yet wich we want to stay at. Mabe a week at each?

OK...you got me...I only know about/have stayed at the Vistana Resort. What are the "Vistana Villages"?

We stayed there in early december, and it was lovely. Ask for the cascades section when you check in-this is close to the nicest pool. The general store on property was well stocked, and not horrifically expensive. We used the pizza hut delivery a lot (Buy one, get one 1/2 price), and we also ate at jimmies, which was nice and has good specials. This place is REALLY close to disney- the only hotel in between is Marriot horizons, I think?

We stay there nearly every year and my kids love it.

Where did you get such a incredible rate?

Thanks,

Sheila

It will be DH, me, DS, DD who will be staying. I got such a good rate from my in-laws timeshare. I'm kinda of scared about staying there after I read some of the reviews. But If you are used to staying in motels like Knight Inn i think we should be OK. Your vacation is what you make of it. And with only having to pay such a low amount I think I can make the best of it.

The size that we have is a 1br sleeps 4 people. Ages going is DH 34, Me 31, DS 9, DD 6. I will diffently be going to the store after all we are driving down from Ohio.

No advice on the resort but----We will be there the same dates. We are staying at the Amerihost Resort. Our band will be marching down mainstreet at the Magic Kingdom on the 24th. Look for us and give us a cheer!!!

We have stayed at the Vistana Resort 3 times. The resort is the one close to WDW and the Villages are closer to Seaworld etc. We have always enjoyed our time there. Washer/Dryer always come in handy as does the kitchen! We like the general store and restaurants. We loved Cascades (bright and cheery and well-situated to the pools), but have found that the older units had more room and less noise. The staff has always been more than accommodating. Our last visit in Dec. we stayed in the Cascades and could see the Epcot fireworks from our living room balcony!!!
Highly recommend. Lots of space and amenities especially for the price. If you are not satisfied, they will bend over backwards to help you!

Go have a great time, you will enjoy your stay!

I wouldn't compare vistana to the knights inn or any other motel. This is a full service resort- the main cascades resort is better than many of the ones on disney property, and the room we stayed in (cascades) was spotless and gorgeous. Obviosly, since this is not disney you don't get the "theme" experience, but as far as hotels go, this is a VERY nice one. We paid 99$ a night for a one bedroom, with an all ears discount, so your rate is AMAZING.

I meant to say the CASCADES POOL is better than many on disney property. Obviosly, disney has several nicer resorts.. The pool has a huge waterfall you can swim under and fountains that kids can run through.
