...my DD's first college application off today! Boo Hoo! Boy, was that hard putting the stamp on THAT envelope!

She's applying for UNC Charlotte for Nursing. She's also going to apply to FSU and USF here in Florida. I'm secretly (well, not really so secretly really) hoping she'll stay in Florida, as it will be SO much less expensive for in-state students.

But, if she's accepted at UNC Charlotte, she's ready and willing to take out student loans to finance it -- she's THAT anxious to go there. We visited the campus in May, and it was really nice.

I guess this is the beginning of a new and exciting road for us. I hope I have the strength for this. I've been keeping very busy with work and community theatre to keep my mind "off" of the inevitable. Keep us in your thoughts... VAL

Good luck, its a crazy time! I don't know if your guidence office sends out the transcripts, but BE ON TOP OF THEM! They didn't send out my transcript to one school, and I've heard various other horror stories.

I'm leaving home in two weeks for college, so I remember application time quite well. It's good that you're getting them out of the way now, I didn't have mine finished until November, and that's not horrible...some people were sooo late. (most of mine were due in January). Good luck!
