We had a sick kid before our trip and had to cancel. This happened to us last time we went to Disney Last January...we may not attempt to go back again in the school year...right now they scheduled us May 14-20 (arrive Mothers day) but I'm tempted to just push it into the first week of June to get out of the petri dish school. Obviously crowds are a big difference but what about weather? Is June alot more rainy than May?

If it were me I would choose based on anticipated crowds. Early June is the beginning of summer break for many places which increases crowds. I would choose May over June.

Rain... in June.??
You must be talking WDW, not DLR.? lol
Posts in the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies area of DISboards are all for WDW in Florida. Disneyland posts can be found in the Disneyland area of DISboards.

I’m sorry you had to cancel. And I’m even sorrier to know it was the second time you needed to.

We had to cancel at the absolute last minute due to illness, and it was hard. It definitely took an emotional toll on me. For me, there is so much prep work that goes into planning a trip, it was hard to let it all go and accept the trip I was dreaming about was gone.

My opinion is to go in early June when school is out and illness is less likely. I don’t think my mental health could have handled another disappointment/reschedule. And at that time of year, a few weeks doesn’t seem like it would make a tremendous difference to crowds and heat.

I hope that your trip is magical and more than makes up for the disappointments over canceling!

Thanks! It's mentally draining going through this again..as much as I'd love to be in Disney for mother's day i Just don't know if I could handle it happening again. I do feel lucky it happens before our trip and not mid trip but my anxiety of that happening Is now sky high! Our son is soo ready to go and so is my husband. June is only an extra few weeks longer.
