Hi Everyone, need your help,

On Feb. 24th my suitcases were packed and my DH and DD's and I were SUPER excited that the next day we were flying to Orlando and FINALLY going to DisneyWorld for the FIRST time.....and then MY world fell apart...

My Dear father passed away suddenly...............it was quite a shock.

For my children's sake I would like to reschedule our Vacation as soon as possible...before June, I thought..but have no idea when the busy times are and would prefer to go when it is somewhat quieter at Disney...

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
Thankyou,
Mimi

Mimi,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am sending you some pixie dust:pixiedust: It must be difficult for you and your family.

As for a good time to go in the next couple of months. The last week of April is a good time to go. Rates drop and also attendance. Weather is beautiful as well.

Your fellow DISer's are here to help you plan a wonderful healing trip.

Oh Mimi.. that's sad news indeed. Very sorry to hear that. The loss of a loved one is always a difficult time indeed. :grouphug:

As to your question.. Disney DID just release some hotel discounts for April and May .. and the info is available on this site and others.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneypackages.htm#current

And you can save around 15 percent at Values & Mods or up to 25 % off selected deluxe accommodations. There is a room only code if you don't have either a MYW or an MYW + dining package. (Just Private Message me if you need more info.. anything I can do to help!)

I'm so sorry for your loss! How tragic for you all.
I'm just planning my first trip to Disney and from all of my research, April seems to be relatively quite time and September thru October. I guess it depends on the type of weather (super hot or just hot! lol) you're hoping for and crowds.
No matter when you choose to go, I'm sure it will be a magical and healing trip.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I agree with the above posters that said april and early may. Good weather and low attendance. Best wishes from our family to yours.

So sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

Like the other posteres, we thought late April, early May was really a nice time to go. The Easter crowd and spring breakers were gone, the summer crowd hadn't arrived, and there are discounts to take advantage of. The weather is hot though (but better than too cold) but cool down at the water parks!!!

Hugs to you for your tragic loss

I went last May around 16-21st and it was HOT :sunny:

But it was easy to get around as the crowds weren't so bad :thumbsup2

It was also Star Wars weekends which was fun to see, your kids might like that...

:yoda: :chewy: :ewok: :darth:

Whenever you choose to go, I hope you have a lovely time :flower3:

So sorry for your loss. Please know your family are in my prayers and I hope that this upcoming Disney trip will reinforce in you to make the most of the time you can spend together...:grouphug:

Thank you everyone for your replies and kind words of condolences.

It has been really difficult, and surreal to be honest.

I don't know if we'll be able to replan our trip until end of May now.

Hopefully it works out, I would hate to have to wait until the Fall, but that may happen.

Thanks again so much, I really appreciate your help.

Canadian Guy,>>>> did you have a good time?? How was the POP century?
They were wonderful to us and completed refunded our hotel costs.

Sorry to hear about your dad :(

I haven't been in April but I like May. The weather is hot but not humid like the later summer months. The crowds are moderate - most rides I remember were 15-20 minutes. It were more people on the weekends and on Memorial Day but we went to the outlets on those days :)

So sorry for your loss.
If you have to go during a busy season(actually ANY season) I would suggest getting the Tour Guide Mike planning services. It provides you with great tips and ideas on how to avoid the lines and beat the crowds at certain parks on certain days. I have used his planning tools for my last 3 trips and never waited for more than 15min for a ride.
Tour Guide Mike sponsors the theme parks attractions & strategies forum and there is a link for a discount for his services. He doesn't personally plan your trip, but provides you with the tools to plan your own trip around the lowest crowd levels of the parks.
If you need any help or have any questions just ask away.

Yes.. our trip was just great. The weather cooperated.. (apart from a single Tornado watch.. !!!?? which passed without incident) Pop Century was fantastic as always. We got an amazing room right beside the bowling pin pool on the ground floor. Was a godsend...

I did enjoy the trip.. I'm saving my pennies for the next one now. :)

Hope you get to go as soon as you can! :wizard:
