Had my tooth pulled this morning.....

It a lousy thing to have done but sometimes thinking about the fact it has to be done is even worse. Hope you feel better soon. :sunny:

I just went to the oral surgeon yesterday and I have to have one of my molars removed. I am NOT looking forward to it. How many days do you think I will be out of commission? I do not want to take any days off from work, I have to take two for my trip to WDW in March, priorities you know! Good luck with the tooth, hope you feel better soon!

Ouch!! Do hope you feel better soon, minnieandmickey. A couple days and I bet you'll be doing great. :goodvibes

I have had a tooth pulled before and it was only bad for the first 24 hours. By day 2 it was just a little uncomfortable, nothing some regular asprin couldn't help.

Sending lots of PD for your mouth to feel better soon!!!

I had two wisdom teeth pulled under "laughing gas" and I actually felt I could have gone back to school to finish the day. The shot didn't wear off till about 4:00. I took the Friday off just so I could rest but by Monday I was good to go. It was a weird feeling to feel all my other teeth moving back to fill in the gap so to speak.

Good Luck with yours.

I have to get this done. What sort of pain med did they use? Were you awake. I want to be asleep.

I feel your pain. I had a tooth pulled awhile back and I am now in the middle of a dental implant (fun and games LOL!!). You should start to feel better within 1-2 days. Eating can be tricky though for awhile, just chew on the other side. Remember, if you have any real bad pain call your dentist. Also use ice for the first 24 hours. Hope you are feeling better real soon!!

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and pd.

I was awake, with just novacaine, he numbed it up but I could feel what I described to him a sensation that you get when you put cold on a sensitive tooth so he had to numb it up a little more. Took about a half hour to get it out as I have long roots and it was already broken and he didn't want it to break any further.
What had happened was that my tooth broke (found out it had a huge cavity in it) at the bone line so I had a choice of either going to a gum specialist and having my gums cut higher so they could put a cap on or just having it removed.....you know what I chose.
Here it is a week later, my cheek actually has pain to the touch, the first day was painful but I just took motrin and it seemed to help. Tomorrow I have the stitch taken out, and have 4 old fillings redone on the other side of my mouth. I really have a paranoia for going to the dentist, thankfully I have found a gentle one.

I hope you feel better soon and that the remainder of your dental work goes well. Take care!
