Had my planning meeting!

Ok, had my planning meeting with our coordinator. Just so you are prepared...it was almost 4 hours! I totally did not expect it and told my dad it would be like an hour! He had a total glazed- over look on his face after about 30 minutes and he and my fiance went outside to walk around! Anyway, we got so much more accomplished then I had expected! Met with the florist, chose music, food, was given a timeline, etc. Suggestions before meeting with coordinator...if you have a photo of your dress, bring it for the florist--your dress tells them lots about your personality in an instant and she was so thankful that I had a photo of my dress and the bridesmaids'. Also, try to have your colors chosen (they told me lots of people do not by the meeting time and end up spending 6-8 hours there in the meeting!). One other word to the wise...don't let your dad come with you...my mom, fiance and I spent the whole time trying to keep him within our previously discussed budget! Shouldn't he have been the one keeping us in line?!

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm going to WDW on Monday and having my planning session for my renewal this week. I didn't expect it to be so long, but I'm going on my own and leaving hubby and son to explore the parks.

Did you happen to have the cake or food tasting? They have set that up for me and I can't wait.

Hi there. Thanks for the heads up... I was wondering if you do the food and cake tasting during your planning session? Mine's not going to be for a while... we are setting the date as soon as Kristie Davis gets back from vacation... My fiance changed it again to Sept. 14, 2006. This way our min is a LOT lower... and the date (9/14) still adds up to the number 23. We were originally going to get married on the 23rd... but the min is REALLY high... but it's his lucky day... LOL... He's never cared much about dates before this so I find it hilarious that every date we chose had to add up to 23 in some way... Anyway, I LOVE this board and all the info I'm getting from it... I feel like I am going to be so prepared for my planning session when it happens!!! Thank you guys sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!

Hi!

My coordinator, Michelle, told me food and cake tasting will be during the time we meet for the planning session.

However, she said it is not always available. She has to check schedules of chefs at GF and make sure they can do it. I just found out last week that they were available and I'm sooo excited.

What sort of time line did you get? I did not get a timeline (those who read my previous post know I didn't get much of anything) and am so nervous right now being 45 days out and having no clue what needs to be done...I'd love if you would share the timeline! Thanks

I didn't get a timeline! Sorry! We discussed the order in which events occur on the day of the wedding as far as when we had to be at the Pavilion, etc. Not sure if you mean that timeline or the one leading up to the wedding weekend, but I think he told us that for our 10 AM wedding the groom arrives at the Pavilion at 8:30 so he and groomsmen can take photos until 9. Then he goes in his room at the pavilion for a bit while my bridesmaids and I arrive and go take photos at various locations around the grand floridian. That way, he and groomsmen are there to help seat guests. About 9:45 he gets out of sight while I am delivered to the bridal room at the pavilion. Then the show starts at 10!
