Had an eventful thanksgiving

We had just sat down to eat our very nontraditional thanksgiving feast, when my sister saw firetrucks pull up next door.
We quickly ran outside and saw them break in threw a window, and get all their hoses out. They ended up putting out a stove fire (the people weren't home), but boy was it a scene! 5 trucks, an ambo, cops, fire rescue unites etc. Kinda cool too, since my Grandpa was a fire fighter

I was expecting a fistfight between DH and BIL but alas it didnt happen. I just sorta zoned out when MIL was bragging about BIL and how wonderful he is....

Yup.

Thankfully no family drama as it was just me , sister, mom, grandma, and our great aunt. Others were out of town, or not invited (due to past family drama)

We thought we'd do the right thing and bring both DM and DMIL out of the nursing home for a nice home cooked turkey. What a huge mistake. If you ever think about bringing 2 demented old ladies with walkers to your house, don't.

How did the fire department know there was a fire if on one was home?

Allstate had a commercial yesterday about safely frying turkeys
