Had AKL, got MAJOR Pixie Dust instead

Well I got the call to switch to another resort a few weeks before our stay and my wife chose to stay...

We checked in on Wednesday and they told us that we could have a standard room with view of the construction (we've always been upgraded to Savanah). Or we could have our choice of a suite at SSR, garden view at CR, or GF. So I said well my wife really wanted the AKL. They said we'll give you $100 to spend for each day of your stay. So I said can I have the GF? It took them about 10 min. and the manager came out and said you got the GF and here's your $500.00. So we put the bags back in the rental and high tailed it to the GF! We got Big Pine Key 4th floor pool view. It's friggin awesome having the pool, main house and 24 Hr food so close. Not to mention the monorail.

So in short this truely is the year of a million dreams. Many years ago I had a dream of staying in all 3 monorail resorts. It's now complete!

Disney sure does come through! You can not beat their customer service. I think that is one of the big reasons why I keep going back.

sorry you had to move. that can be upsetting when you plan your trip from one resort and find yourself at another one.

Wow - that is great. I hope we get the same offer if they have to move us when we get there. I would be happy with GF at the same price as AKL but with money back too - fantastic!

Our stay was awesome...

I think we're now spoiled having stayed at the GF. It was stay of a million dreams. I have now stayed in all 3 monorail resorts and like the GF the best. I would have never dreamed of being upgraded to the GF let alone $500 to spend.

The AKL is great also, but there's just something about the GF. My guess is I'll have to save harder for the GF now

I'm glad to hear that you had such an amazing trip. The $500 was a great bonus - but I believe that you deserved something extra since your trip was interrupted when you arrived. Now Disney has another customer!
