Had a great dinner last night

We went out to a local café/lunchroom which is staffed by people with a mental handicap. Yesterday evening they had a top chef (2 michelen stars) come to cook.

So it was an incredible combination. The food was excellent and the staff was really fun. They were enjoying themselves so much. Also there was a lot of wine and a camera crew, so we might even be on TV this evening

We'll definitely be doing it again.

Well, we watched last night and you only saw the backs of our heads so much for our 15 minutes of fame

Hmm let me see:

Amuse - shrimp tempura (very small whole fried shrimp) /Champagne
Starters - Smoked salmon on a lovely cucumber/apple mixture with wasabi/ White wine
Fish - Halibut with a topping of very finely cut carrot/celery with miso froth. Orange mayonaise and a mini roll with what I thought was mushrooms/ dry white wine
The main course was duck filet with a lovely chutney, aubergine mouse and spinach with garlic that was out of this world/ red wine
And desert was pinapple with a passion fruit froth/warm chocolate brownie and creme brulee with an absolutely wonderfully fruity dessert wine!

Almost like a mini Victoria & Alberts
