Just had dinner at Hacienda in Mexico last night - great meal! Most adults in our party ordered apps as entrees and it was enough for a meal. The service was wonderful - will definitely go back. The restaurant is beautiful with large pretty windows overlooking the lake. It was a much better experience than San Angel inside Mexico. Made reservations for a party of nine same day as well. Couldn't be happier!

thanks for the review. We ate there a couple of weeks ago but didn't try the appetizers (just was not in the mood for them that night.) Glad to hear they're good, though as one of these times we'll probably go with an all apps-dinner. We did have the "for 2" meat platter and that was very good. Did you try any of the specialy margaritas or tequilas?

Thanks for the review! I am torn between an earlier dinner at San Angel Inn then finding somewhere to watch Illuminations, or a later dinner at La Hacienda and watching Illuminations there. Were you there during Illuminations? If so, how was the view? I have read mixed reviews on the view.

I totally agree, the service here is soo good! I adored our waiter, Mauricio, and would ask for him next time we return if possible!

I'm in the same exact boat as you -- very torn on which Mexican restaurant to make ADRS at for the same reasons you described above.

Watching Illuminations during dinner at La Hacienda was an amazing experience. Highly recommended. As it was chilly outside, being in the restaurant made it so much more enjoyable; that breeze off the lake can get COLD.
The food here was excellent, and the service was perfect -- ask for Memo, he took great care of us!
